We are locals who have been here many times. We always enjoy our meals. This time, the food was extraordinary!!! We ordered an entree as shared appetizer, two more entrees plus two desserts. Generous portions, fabulous textures and rich flavors. We practically licked our plates. Usually, we go for the moose, but tonight we added the cake option. Vanilla blueberry with lemon buttercream frosting. Oh my goddessssss. This was truly decadent, moist, and divinely flavored. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. If it’s been a while since you popped in, don’t hesitate to return. The kitchen is on fire we are beyond satisfied.

Nestled in the heart of Brattleboro, Vegan As AF is a bold, flavor-forward gem that instantly wins you over with its inventive, fully plant-based menu. From the moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere felt fun and welcoming—laid-back yet full of energy, like a hidden spot only locals whisper about but everyone should know.
We ordered the Pra Ram Tofu, Kimchi Fried Rice, and their award-winning chili, and each dish brought its own personality to the table. The Pra Ram Tofu came drenched in a luscious peanut sauce, rich and perfectly balanced with steamed veggies and a tender tofu that soaked up every drop. The Kimchi Fried Rice had a satisfying kick—spicy, tangy, and just the right amount of funk to keep you going back for more.
But the real standout was the chili—a total surprise. It wasn’t your typical smoky, savory bowl; instead, it had this unexpected sweet BBQ flavor that was downright addictive. Each spoonful layered spice, sweetness, and depth in a way that made us pause and smile after every bite.
We left full, happy, and already plotting our return. In fact, we both agreed we’d drive all the way back to Brattleboro just to eat here again. Vegan or not, this place deserves a spot on any food lover’s list.
⭐️ Overall Rating: 5/5
Must Try: Award-winning chili
Vibe: Cozy, creative, and proudly bold
Worth the Trip?: Absolutely — even from hours away

Ordered out so i don’t know the indoor experience.
Food was very rich and flavorful. Got the kimchi rice and sweet potato rounds and both were amazing, seasoned and flavored very well.
It makes sense as to why its so expensive (40$) after trying it but i was still shocked at how little food it was for the price.
I paid 8.99 for 3 sweet potato pieces, i attached a photo. Idk if it was cause it was end of night but i was shocked. Almost paid 10$ for not even a full potato is crazy.

Visiting from out of town and stopped by for takeout—everything was absolutely incredible!! Staff was very kind—can’t wait to come back next time I’m in town! My favorite was the Kimchi fried rice, but we also loved the risotto and brussel sprouts. Highly reccomend !

A hidden gem in Vermont. This unassuming restaurant was a true delight. The food was absolutely delicious- so inventive and creative without being pretentious. It can rival and beat many of the NYC vegan restaurants that I’ve had. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming especially Nikki. Then have over 50 years of experience and it SHOWS on the plate. Everything was amazing and we would definitely go back just to eat here again!

Wonderful service, I called an hour in advance to make a last minute reservation for Thursday evening. The place was packed when we arrived. The appetizers – Brussel sprouts and Chilli – blew us away. We highly recommend them.
However, the entrees were less exciting – instant ramen and kimchi fried rice. Perhaps the meatloaf might have been a better option.
We would still visit this restaurant again for the good vibes and service, however, I might not expect authentic Asian flavors for certain dishes.

We are not vegans or vegetarians. We first experienced Vegan AF at Wilmington’s Soup & Wine strool. Their soup was always amazing but it took me a while to talk my husband into trying the restaurant because he is such a meat-eater. It is now one of our favorite restaurants. The food is incredible, highly recommend the ramen, the chicken riggies, the sweet potato round app. The service is always excellent. The dining room is small so it is probably not best for huge parties. And they have a covered outdoor patio which is lovely when the weather cooperates. Highest recommendation!

Such a great, unique experience! We sat on the deck overlooking the wooded stream, our dog at our feet. Lindsay was our server, and so full of energy and enthusiasm. Really enjoyed what she brought to our experience (until it got busier and we didn’t see her again after ordering.)
We split the sweet potato app, and the pineapple/coconut drink (yum!) What lacked in volume was more than made up for in flavor.
I got the peanut noodles, husband the meatloaf. We both loved our dishes (pup gives two paws up for the noodles.) Another waiter came by for our dessert order – vanilla cake – which took a strangely long time, but finally came (maybe 25 mins later.) Sadly without the birthday candle Lindsay had promised. Oh well. It was still a really lovely meal, worthy of the special occasion.
