The food was so good! The pasta was amazing, my bf kept eating from my plate, and I kept eating his burger, it was so good! The fries were nice and crispy, the bread that came with my pasta was perfect as well! I got 3 martinis – the strawberry supernova was my favorite. The food and drink came out really fast. Our server was really nice and friendly, as well as the girl who brought out our food a few times. We’ll definitely be coming back to try some other things. We made a reservation for our anniversary, but I’m not sure if that’s required. We didn’t eat outside, but the outdoor tables were really pretty. The drink prices were pretty standard ($9 – $11), the food prices weren’t expensive, but not necessarily cheap. The burger was $18, nachos (appetizer) was $16, my pasta was $27, creme brulee $7. 10/10, definitely recommend!

Good date night spot! Love the historic feel of the building and the pictures of old Albany on the wall. Service was ok, some of the food was better than the rest. My steak was way overcooked, which is a bummer for the price. The food is pretty pricey, but you get a lot of food. Definitely a great spot for an event, not your typical every day dinner spot.

Me and my partner have been coming here for a few years now and we adore this little place.
The food and drinks are delicious, but we love the employees there.
They do their best despite being without any real management the last few years.
The staff do their best to make the experience as enjoyable as they possibly can with the resources they’re given.
We’ve grown particularly fond of one server, Valerie, and recommend you ask for her if you’re there on the weekends.
She is hands down one of the best waitresses we’ve ever met and an extremely fun person to talk to!

We showed up at 1847 only to find it closed, so we drove to Vault 244 in Albany — and I’m glad we did. Parking was easy on this Monday night, and the moment we stepped inside, we knew we’d found exactly what we were hoping for: a low-light, romantic atmosphere for my bride’s birthday dinner.
We stood at the doorway a minute or two before being greeted by a friendly waitress who asked where we’d like to sit — the cozy spot by the fireplace or a table by the window. Naturally, we chose the fireplace. She offered to turn it on for us and quickly cleaned the table from the previous guests. Waters and menus arrived right away, and throughout the evening she kept a discreet, watchful eye from across the room. When we were ready, she appeared instantly to take our drink and appetizer orders.
Drinks came promptly, the list was extensive, and while the prices leaned upscale, nothing felt unreasonable. We ordered a uniquely named pasta dish with prawns — not the best meal we’ve ever had but certainly in the running for a high-end dinner. Service throughout was flawless; we never needed to ask for a thing.
Vault 244 is the perfect place to take your wife or girlfriend for that special night out. I usually tip $5–$10, but she earned $25 tonight. That should tell you everything you need to know. Highly recommend.

Do Better Vault 244!
I’ve always loved Vault 244. It’s one of the few places that makes my favorite drink, a Sazerac. My wife and I have come here for anniversaries and dinners for years, so this experience was honestly upsetting.
My brother-in-law’s girlfriend called about a week before to make a reservation for his birthday. She spoke with who we believe was the manager, Grace. Grace clearly said there’s a 10-person maximum but also made it sound like they could accommodate the 11th guest since it was just a baby. She said the baby could sit on a lap or in a highchair, so we thought that was worked out ahead of time.
When we arrived for our 6:15 reservation, we were immediately met by a waitress named Tanya who was visibly frustrated and very rude from the start. Before we could even sit down, she repeated several times that the policy is 10 people maximum in a harsh tone. When we tried to explain that we had spoken to Grace, she cut us off and said she remembered overhearing that phone call and that the manager never said that. Her tone was sharp, she talked down to us, and made it clear she wasn’t going to listen or help.
It was embarrassing and uncomfortable. Tanya showed no interest in listening or helping us find a solution. Even after we explained that it was a birthday and the 11th was just a baby in a highchair, she refused to show any understanding. The table clearly had room for a highchair, and the photo we took shows that.
A second waitress came over later and was polite and kind, which only made Tanya’s behavior stand out more. She treated us with respect and understanding while still explaining the policy.
We’ve always liked Vault 244, but this was one of the most unwelcoming experiences we’ve ever had. The way Tanya handled this situation was unprofessional and disrespectful. No guest should ever be spoken to the way we were. Refusing to let a baby sit in a highchair at the end of a table where there was clearly room is beyond unreasonable.
It’s not about the rule. It’s about basic respect.

Excellent restaurant. The atmosphere is professional, quiet, dark and comfortable. Staff was wonderful, communicated well and tended to us in a timely manner.
I came back for the steak, because the first time my brother had actually had that then. I tried his and immediately said I needed to come back. Always just the most flavorful choice of meat, with perfect seasoning and cooked to the perfect level. The mash potatoes are the best I’ve ever had, and the salad was tossed with just the right amount of dressing.
I very much personally enjoyed the choices of non-alcoholic cocktails, while my party enjoyed the large list of fun cocktails. When we were here before, the bartenders made us other drinks not on the menu as well.
Thank you Vault 244 for the wonderful experience. I highly recommend this place for romantic dates or celebration dinners for a professional matter.

I would love to be able to give a better review. Alex was great as our server. We arrived for our reservation that we drove out of town for for our family at 6:45pm. We were seated right away. We were told right away they were out of sea bass and salmon which is what some of us knew we wanted, but Alex joked with us about sending the chef out to catch the fish. There were 5 of us in total. Our food arrived almost a full 2 hours after we seated, it arrived 1.5 hours after ordering. We were getting upset but just wanted food. Alex offered us 2 desserts out of 5 people for them having an issue of tickets not printing, despite watching multiple people (several couples, even another party of 5) arrive after us, be seated, ordered, food delivered, received boxes, enjoy dessert AND close out, and then leave. We watched multiple couples come and go while we continued to wait. We also ordered more drinks as we we were tired of waiting. Looks like a nice place but they did not have it together nor did they really take care of us. Total visit time was over 3 hours and they were not very busy. Should not have to pay the full bill. But we still did. Again Alex was the best part of this experience and we would never have done anything to hurt him, especially after he tried so hard and worked incredibly hard all night. This is fully on either system they use or the kitchen. Alex was amazing

I am a nacho connoisseur. I’ve had them practically all over the world. My issue with the nacho’s at Vault 244 was that they used flavored chips and the meat was only on the top. I loved the pickled onions and jalapeños. The cheese sauce was fair as it was curdled a bit. My friend had the chicken pasta and it was fabulous.
