Truly excellent experience.

We had the lasagna and the mushroom pasta with chicken. Both were fantastic. The pasta tasted fresh made. We had the Tiramisu for dessert and it was so light and flavorful.

The hostess and our server were so friendly, interactive, and prompt, they were a true pleasure to meet. The atmosphere was very “Italian”, very family style but with a date night vibe for those wanting time with a loved one.

We will absolutely be returning. This place is our new Italian favorite! We can’t wait to come back and try more items on the menu.

Excellent dining experience spanning service, atmosphere and the food. When walking in you are reminded of being in an old world Tuscany village with earth tones all over the place. The place is really clean too.
I had the tomato bisque as recommended by my lovely server. The soup is creamy and tangy with the right amount of salt. This is a very good zuppa.
The next dish I chose to eat was Roman Style Carbonara inspired by the Gambino boss’s favorite meal. The chef was nice enough to accomodate my special request as the restys version had cream in it.
The carbonara’s pancetta smoky and meaty. The eggs sauce was perfect.
Olivia service lady friendly and inviting. A good experience.

First time coming to Vaticano Cucina and it was fantastic! We were welcomed in as soon as we walked in, Olivia was our server and was super attentive and very kind! We started with the mussels with the white wine cream, it was to die for! My husband got the braised short ribs and I got the lobster pasta. Both meals were out of this world! His ribs fell of the bone and melted in your mouth. The lobster tail was cooked perfectly and abundant with argentian shrimp. He got a side of the asparagus with truffle sauce and I got a side of the marinated olives, best I ever had! Can’t wait for the next time, we need to try more!

Worth every penny!!!
We went here on a whim, never heard of it before, just off the street because it was next to our hotel and we had an amazing time! We felt comfortable immediately because every staff member was extremely kind and professional! Our waitress helped us with recommendations when we weren’t sure on what to try and was quick and knowledgeable and just overall a sweetheart! Then the food and drinks, soooooo delicious. Every thing we tried came out quick and hot and tasty. And I tried a couple of their cocktails which were unique and also delicious. I will be dreaming about the orange mojito for awhile. 10/10 recommend!

We’ve been coming to Vaticano Cucina pretty regularly, and it’s easily one of our favorite spots. The interior is beautiful—there’s an open kitchen we love, and the ceiling is covered in stunning Renaissance-style paintings that give the space a real sense of charm and authenticity.

The food is always spot-on. We’ve tried a bunch of different dishes over time, and everything has been consistently delicious. You can tell there’s a lot of care and pride in what they serve.

The staff are always friendly, and the service is smooth and relaxed—never rushed, never overbearing. Whether we’re here with family or just winding down after a long day, it always feels like the perfect place to be.

Do not come here. It was my friend’s birthday and we decided to come here. The server was the rudest man I’ve met as a server. We did not feel welcomed or wanted. Rarely said you’re welcome when thanked (basic manners btw). My other friend was ordering her food and the waiter interrupted her to talk to another waiter. He also proceeded to rudely reply “I’m doing that right now” as she asked for more water. There was no hospitality at all, like AT ALL. I never felt more like leaving a restaurant right away more than ever, we were scared to even ask questions about the menu anymore. I don’t know who hurt you, but you need to learn how to be nice to others who are nice to you. I’ve wrote many reviews for restaurants before and they’re for the good service, but I can’t here. I’m sorry for you bald guy. Thanks. – Also the Sangria was the worst Sangria I’ve ever had, it was like watered down?? How do you mess that up? Cactus can do better than that.

If I could give over 5 starts I absolutely would! Beautiful atmosphere. The food is so fresh, delicious and amazingly executed! Our server was I believe an owner or manager and she was incredible. So friendly, kind, attentive and positive! Will definitely be recommending to anyone who wants to try some actual authentic Italian cuisine and will definitely be returning!

Came here for work function as a guest.
Good: seating and ambiance
Bad: server came to our table shouting for attention when we were mid sentence in conversation.
Food came out in less than 10 mins! No way you can cook a lasagne, ravioli, and another pasta dish that quickly. My ravioli came out cold and dry, likely microwaved and sauce pre-made. The restaurant was 50% full certainly not empty.

Since my host picked the restaurant and had been multiple times before, it seemed like a good choice. Would not come back simply because the food cant be freshly made at that speed.

Superb Italian cuisine in Edmonton. We gave it a try because of the good reviews. The atmosphere is decent, I would say mid range. Not as fancy as I was hoping, felt like the decor needed a bit more attention to create the atmosphere to match the food.
Service was really great and attentive initially, then there was a very long delay getting our bill. Too bad!! It started very good!
The food was great, the pasta was very flavorful and rich. We had butternut squash ravioli and an Italian sausage bucatini. Both were very good. Presentation was beautiful and there was nothing left on the plate! A sure sign of great food!
Tiramisu was mediocre, but thankful it was made in restaurant, which was the win here. I was hoping for a bit more flavor on the dessert.
Wine selection was good and the red we had paired nicely with the pasta.
I would come again! I highly recommend for anyone who wants to support local, get authentic Italian and get out of chain restaurants. Give it a try, I’m sure you’ll be pleased as I was!
