We had an fantastic dinner at Varsha Indian Kitchen. The food was fresh, flavorful, and full of authentic taste. The service was friendly and attentive, and we appreciated how quickly our meals came out. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. It’s clear why this place is so popular—I’ll definitely be recommending it to friends and family!
We recently had the pleasure of dining at Varsha Indian Kitchen and came away genuinely impressed. Nestled in historic Chinatown in downtown Victoria, this family-run restaurant offers a delightful blend of traditional Indian cuisine and thoughtful fusion twists.
A big part of what made our visit so enjoyable was the service — Himanshi took amazing care of us. She was warm, attentive, and guided us through the menu with great recommendations. Her friendly approach made the whole experience feel welcoming and personal.
The food was excellent — rich curries, flavourful starters, and creative fusion dishes like butter chicken poutine. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour.
Varsha is the kind of place where you feel both comfort and excitement in every bite. Thanks to the wonderful staff, especially Himanshi, we’ll definitely be returning soon
Lip smacking starters and delectable curries!
First visit wasn’t the best but this one definitely exceeded expectations!
Earlier review :- Victoria Day possibly wasn’t the best of days to visit Varsha!
I’ve heard great things about this place but it definitely fell short in terms of flavour yesterday!
Service was great though! The lady taking care of our table was very accommodating but the food itself wasn’t upto the mark
Goat curry wasn’t cooked through! Chilly chicken had veggies that felt like they had never been in the sauce at all!
Fish fry was scrumptious and packed with flavour though ( clearly the best for the night )
But everything else just fell apart
3 stars because I do feel there will be opportunities in future for us to rate Varsha a little higher
But for the price you’re paying, it would be pass for me currently!!
The ambience is great, and the food is always delicious. We had a small issue with the steamed chicken momos, as we didn’t like them, but Palak took full accountability and handled it so professionally. That kind of service truly creates loyal customers.
We also celebrated a birthday here and truly enjoyed every moment — it made the day even more special. ✨
Hats off to both of them! Highly recommended.
Halal restaurant with excellent hospitality – open late night!
I visited Varsha Indian Kitchen in Victoria around 1:30 AM for a takeout order. I was really hungry, and even though it was late, the lady at the counter, Ms. Raj was incredibly kind and helpful. She spoke to the chef and made sure my biryani was prepared quickly without any hesitation.
The biryani was tasty — maybe not the absolute best, but it definitely did the job. What really stood out to me was the hospitality and care shown by Ms. Raj, especially at such an odd hour.
The location is great, the vibe looks good even for takeout and the best part — Varsha is a Halal restaurant.
Big respect to Ms. Raj and the team for their late-night support. Will definitely be back again and try more dishes!!
We had the Varsha Briyani with Lamb and Vindaloo Curry with Chicken. Both in spicy versions.
Chilli Cheese Naan, Garlic Butter Naan, Cilantro Naan
The briyani was probably one of best briyanis I’ve ever had in my life. And that’s saying a lot considering I’ve never particularly liked briyani out of all Indian food options. The flavours were the perfect proportions and it was perfectly moist, unlike most dry briyanis. Topped with more than enough fried shallots. You don’t need curry with this it’s perfect the way it is.
The naan? My god I don’t understand why other places make naan so thick and doughy. Varsha’s naan was slightly crispy and the perfect thickness with the toppings generously spread.
Don’t miss out on this place if you want Indian food. It’s worth every $.
Dessert(Rasmalai) and Masala Tea was fresh and perfectttt. Thank you so much for this.
