Gonna be honest I only visited because this place was in scream 7 but WOW my experience was top tier the service was great the man at the bar and the lady who waited on us were both so sweet & they both were so kind and understanding of me taking photos of the entire place due to me being a huge scream fan…bay the food is AMAZING I had the Merica burger and I can confidently say it’s one of the best burgers I’ve ever had genuinely I pray and hope I get to come close to this establishment again just to experience this once again 10/10

I’ve been coming here for quite some time for trivia with friends and while trivia is always fun, tonight’s experience just left me speechless.

For context, I’ve been vegan for 10 years- no meat, no milk/cheese, no eggs. I’m quite aware that most restaurants and dining establishments don’t accommodate vegans, nor do I expect them to. It’s not my first rodeo. I’m also quite aware that vegans get a bad rep and I’ve never been offended about my diet/lifestyle until tonight.

At Varners, I usually order steamed broccoli, a baked potato with no sour cream or butter (don’t want to waste perfectly good items), and a large house salad with no cheese, no croutons, and no dressing. Not a difficult order, right? And all together (based off the Feb 17th, 2026 menu) comes to $16.85- even the burgers and sandwiches are cheaper than my veggie plate.

When our food was ran, one of the managers (larger male) said to me “Ohh, so you’re the one who can’t eat anything?”

I was appalled. He tried to suggest the quesadilla but I tried to explain that I’m vegan and can’t do cheese.

Again- I’m quite aware that vegans get a bad rep and I usually find stereotyped vegan memes really funny. But to say “I can’t eat anything”- that stung. It was one of the rudest remarks I’d ever received, especially with a full meal right in front of me. I was on the verge of tears.

It’s not uncommon for me to hear meals I order be called rabbit food, grass/leaves, sad, etc. at other establishments. I get it- most people don’t want just plain veggies when dining out and I don’t blame them.

But to say “I can’t eat anything” made me feel like I was completely unwelcomed as a guest and alienated.

To the owners and managers of Varners, please don’t take this as a vegan complaining that there’s no options. I obviously made my selections and found what works.

I’m not expecting Varners to be a fine dining experience, but I am expecting it to be a respectful environment. My party dines here at least once a week because its our favorite trivia location. Tonight’s encounter with this particular manager has not been our first negative encounter. It’d be greatly appreciated if this manager had more understanding of what customer service meant.

Varner’s has a nice variety of food choices on the menu. Everything we ordered was cooked to order. Very hot & tasty. We didn’t participate in the Trivia game but was still fun to listen to the Q&A’s. Thank you for another good night of food and entertainment.

I’ve come to this place quite a few times and I love it. Food and drinks are solid. And I can watch eagles games easily. But one bartender behind the game each time I come is easily so unbearably rude, I opted out to come to the last few games of the season. I sat once almost a whole quarter without a greeting, or an order taken. Business is one thing- ignoring one person at the bar is another. Last incident, I asked a question about my bill, and in return was thrown my reprinted receipt at me. It’s uncalled for, especially being a regular.

We went to play trivia. The food was good but nothing special. The service was far from acceptable. The trivia would have more fun if it wasn’t on the football game timeframe. I was disappointed. We will try again after football is over.

Absolutely delish!!
The go to place for sudden dinner plans because they are open till 2. The restaurant is huge and really engaging with several open mic events. Food is amazing and they provide large portions. Family friendly and good for group hangouts too. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

My wife and I stopped going here cause the service was average on a good day. Been a year since we went. Thought maybe they’ve got their act togethor. NOPE! They’ve went even further down hill. Bartender had ZERO interest in serving us even though she had 9 people at her bar on a Thursday trivia night. Sat at a table for nearly 20 minutes waiting for the server the bartender directed us to wait for. Finally just walked out. Never again! Lasiters on Cobb is running the EXACT same specials, and the same event on a Thursday. Difference: Their packed and Varners is nearly empty. Care to guess the difference?

Loved the chicken tenders when I had them delivered so decided to visit. My son had the Quesadilla burger and fries which he said was really good. He also said the fries were crispy. I ordered the Sampler Platter and Southern Eggrolls. Both were really good however make sure you like spicy food. The greens were spicy and the bbq sauce had a little bit of a kick to it as well. Will definitely be back.

Came by Varners for a late night meal and to hang out. Decided to go with the wing combo. The wings were cooked perfectly, perfectly crisp yet still tender and juicy inside and neither overcooked or too flabby. The fries were alright, nothing special but did the job, however the portion was rather small. The vibe inside the bar was nice, as we went on a weekend there was both trivia and karaoke available for the patrons. Service was alright, initially we were checked on for food and first round of drinks, but the visits from our waiter for additional rounds started to become barren as the night progressed. Overall decent bar with some great wings and fun activities to do at night.
