Honestly my favorite meal in Alaska this far. Very friendly service. Great halibut, shrimp, and clam chowder. Locally caught and fresh. I highly recommend this place. I would drive out here just for lunch. Great views and just an awesome place.

A great place to grab a bite to eat prior to any outing in Whittier, Ak. The food was hot and delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff was friendly and they had the cleanest bathroom we’ve been in in our trip. If you don’t stop here, it’s your own fault. You must get a bowl of the clam chowder !!!

Great local place to eat with fresh and delicious food priced well. We had the fish (cod) and chips and a cup of clam & salmon chowder. Both were delicious and served quickly.

Huge fan of the atmosphere. The walk over and the view from outside was so peaceful. And for needed humor there was a bird begging for a fry which a tourist definitely gave him
That fried fish so worth it. I love whittier. And this is now my must go to for lunch after my hike. And the lemonade was lovely.
Friendly staff.
Very clean. They do have a restroom inside. Plenty of seating. In all an enjoyable lunch

Great service and food. Recommend their fish sandwich (comes with tomato, onion, lettuce and tartar sauce)
They have chicken strips if you don’t eat fish

We got there around 6 pm on Tuesday. There were people dining but it wasn’t really busy. I loved my halibut sandwich. My husband who doesn’t eat seafood enjoyed his chicken strips and fries. I’ll definitely go back when I visit Whittier next time.

You know it’s good food when all the tables stay filled. The food was fresh and well prepared. Halibut and shrimp was the best I’ve had. Shared some fries with a local beggar. Hubby had a halibut sandwich and complained that there was too much food! Recommend if you are in Whittier!

The vibe is ok if you don’t mind dirty sailor. Let’s talk about the floors. Which are plain plywood that has never been cleaned from the looks of it. The ceiling had more effort put into it with plain plywood being covered by a net with sea things hanging in it. As for the walls… Well let’s be honest, I was to distracted by the floors and ceiling to notice much else. Cool vibe if you eat outside with actual living ravens as your table mates.
Service was ok. For the price we certainly expected more even for Alaska standards.
Food was not good. Over cooked fish, undercooked calamari, and tartar sauce that tasted like they added raspberry miracle whip or something. We really hope that if we ever do give it another chance they will have stepped up their game.
Seeing as how I want them to stay in business and it was a singular experience in giving them 2 stars instead of 1 in hopes that they can improve. We do like having options here after all.

We originally came to visit a different restaurant across the way but they were closed because of the rainy weather so we came across the street to Swiftwater cafe and it was okay… nice person in the front the chowder is great the fries are good the fish and chips and half and half are good it wasn’t out of this world but it wasn’t bad at all the fish from fish n chips much better then the fish from half and half but good at the end of the day. I prefer a more beer batter for fish n chips but it was not bad. Would have left an extra star but it was freezing no heat hard to eat in a cold place but again nothing wrong with the food

We ordered, the half and half (which is half halibut and half shrimp), the halibut, and the fish and chips. The fish and shrimp were good, the fries were mediocre. We came again a couple days later after fishing, but they said the wait would be close to 40 minutes, so we left. I’d recommend the Wild Catch Cafe in Whittier over this one, but both are good.
