I am finally writing a review after visiting this restaurant 4 times now. Alright, greatest mention goes to their sesame chicken!! I bet this dish is carrying their entire restaurant! Great taste, large chunks of battered meat. A let down is that it has tasted different all 3 times I’ve ordered it. The first time it was flavorful (a bit too salty) and had a distinct wok flavor. The 2nd and 3rd time, it was still good, but not as good as the first time and no strong wok flavor.

We love the pork belly with pepper sauce.

The chow fun is impeccable! Even my husband who says he doesn’t really like noodle dishes gave it a good rating.

The sliced beef laab is missing salt, needs more seasoning. Every time we asked for extra herbs and they have been so kind to accommodate our request.

We’ve tried a few other dishes that are average. I have yet to try the pho!

The service has always been great. Friendly people.

I’ve ordered takeout about 5 times now. This last time, was super disappointing. We ordered papaya, beef and mushrooms, sweet pork with eggs, and orange chicken. I was super excited to try the sweet pork, but it was the worst dish. The pork was super fatty and the meat on it was super dry.. like you cant even tear the meat with your hands dry. Only came with 1 egg for a dish costing $16. The orange chicken was over cooked and dry, the sauce had a good flavor and it was hot. I didn’t like the flavor of the beef and mushroom, tasted too gamey but my teen daughter said it was ok. The papaya was the only think I liked, sweet and spicy. All the dishes came with white rice, the rice was fresh and good. We didn’t eat in but did use the bathrooms while waiting and they were clean and smelled really nice.

We ordered pork belly, Lao-style papaya salad (medium spicy), chicken wings, sesame chicken, and beef pho. Restaurant wasn’t busy so everything came out within 20 minutes, and the food was excellent! The pork belly was juicy with crispy skin, and the papaya salad had the perfect spicy-sour-sweet balance. My picky daughter even loved the sesame chicken. She described it being crispy and had a flavorful sauce. Wings were crispy and not dry, and the pho was solid. Big shoutout to the amazing staff — attentive, friendly and made our visit enjoyable. Great food, great service.

I kept seeing photos of their pork belly online and finally gave in—I had to try it for myself. And honestly? I was not disappointed. In fact, it exceeded my expectations.
The skin was perfectly crispy, just the right kind of crunch you hope for, and the pork belly itself was surprisingly juicy and tender. It wasn’t dry or overly fatty—just a great balance. What really tied it together was the pepper—it gave the dish a subtle kick that complemented the richness of the pork without overpowering it.
If you’ve been debating whether it’s worth the hype—believe me, it is.

The pork belly, papaya salad, and sesame chicken are a must-try! The food is amazing, and the staff are warm and welcoming. Our order arrived quickly (about 10-12 minutes), and everything was fresh and flavorful. Definitely check this place out if you’re craving authentic, delicious Asian cuisine. Great price for the quality and amount of food you get.

I felt as the food here was good. Nothing phenomenal or nothing you couldn’t find elsewhere in the Twin cities.
The pho was a tad bit too flavorless for me. No beefy nor sweetness to it.
I usually eat my pho as is without any garnishment or condiments but I felt I might have had to here.
Their pork belly was super crispy, wings were great but I wish the pepper sauce had just a few drops of lime and it would balance the flavor out. Overall, I would come back and try other things.

Personally, I LOVE their spring rolls! I cannot get enough. Honestly all of the food we have purchased here is amazing. The Lo Main is a hit. I can taste the seasoning from the wok they prepare this in. It’s so freaking good. My husband loves the eggrolls. They are fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place.

My first time eating here and it was definitely an experience. I walked in and did not get greeted. There is a sign that says order at kiosk. So I ordered chicken egg rolls, pork belly stir fry and a starry soda. Another sign that says seat yourself. So I grabbed a little number to put on my table and just proceeded to wait. There’s signs all over telling customers what to do. Another sign that said water is self served. I waited for about 10 minutes before the wait staff finally came out and brought my food. That was the only interaction I had with the staff. So I finished a bit of my pork belly which wasn’t bad but the greens were pretty bitter. The chicken egg rolls were also pretty blah. So it was a rather disappointing experience. Overall, I would say improve the customer service interaction. At least greet all the customers who walk in. Might come back here and there depending on my mood.

The food quality since open has gone away. I just ordered some chicken and fried rice and I know this smell of the rice. When you burn a pot soo bad it has that super caustic smell almost like a burnt cigarette butt. That is what I have been served. The chicken is rubber and super dry like it’s been sitting in a warmer all day. What is going on here? This tastes like absolute crap. Disgusting food today. Will not be going back.

Just had lunch@ Vangz and the meal was delicious!!! Place was busy@ lunchtime.
Fast and friendly service and very clean establishment.
I had the Combination Pho with brisket, chicken wings with hot pepper sauce and spring rolls with shrimp.
The pho broth was light and flavorful and not a heavy traditional broth. Only added a splash of fish sauce and Siracha and that’s all the flavor needed to enhance the pho. The brisket was tender and juicy which made this meal so satisfying.
The wings were hot and crispy and the pepper sauce complimented the wings perfectly.
The spring rolls with shrimp are traditional and fresh.
Thank You and now we’re Happy to finally have delicious Pho in Cottage Grove!
