Vana is probably my favorite sushi place in Maui. The staff was very friendly. I tried the chef’s sampler, which I highly recommend. They did great hand rolls and then at the end offered to do more of the ones I liked best. That made it a really great mix between new stuff to try and feeling like you got plenty of what you liked with sushi. They had a great live singer. It wasn’t super busy when I went but I under new management and has a new incredible chef. I expect this place to be impossible to get into soon because it is amazing. The chef’s sampler meant it was expensive but there are also cheaper options. I wouldn’t say most of it is more expensive than the quality deserves and than other sushi restaurants in Maui.

This place is special. It is so rare to eat somewhere and enjoy every dish. This restaurant did that for me. The flavors were very fresh and unique. A wonderful mix of citrus’s, salts, sweets and hints of spice filled my pallet as i greedily devoured each course. Not once did I feel that a dish could have been done better or in a different way. Even my espresso was good. Top all that off with incredibly friendly service and a price point that’s hard to beat.

Been here twice, first time we had a group of 6 and experience was great – a bit pricey. Last night, our waitress was appeared annoyed or indifferent in serving us it pretty much ruined what otherwise would have been a nice evening. Also noting multiple items were not available from the already relatively small menu. Step up your service – I find it unlikely we’ll return.

Loved it! Easy in easy out even in the rain. Drinks were better than the sushi but the sushi was pretty good! My wife loved the ribs.

Absolutely amazing!! Atmosphere was impeccable, it felt like you were sitting in a deluxe treehouse as you ate, there was local live music and ambient lighting, as well as palm size hibiscus-like flowers that would occasionally drop down on you as you ate. Even despite the tree shedding gorgeous blooms, the patio was pristine, with nothing out of place but still maintaining a friendly atmosphere. The staff were friendly and personable, and would actually take time to talk to you and get to know you. And oh my god, the FOOD. I am not typically a sushi person, but I could eat here for the rest of my life and never be bored of it. Their gyoza were devoured seconds after hitting the table, and the bartender had amazing off-menu mocktails (ask Ted for his hibiscus cooler!). If you weren’t planning on stopping in Paia, make changes because this restaurant is not to miss!

I had the crab cake Benedict and every bite was amazing! If I ever went to Maui again, this would be the one place I must go! Do not miss out on this place. Make a reservation in advance in case it’s busy. It wasn’t too busy the day we went for breakfast. The town of Paia is an awesome little place. Must go.

There was a very limited menu (Covid I guess), just a few hand rolls, cocktails or beer, basically a happy hour menu… The sushi rolls we had were fine and tasty, I think we ordered two pieces of Kampachi for $10, but I felt the place was overpriced and a little weird to find in a chill little town on the coast of Maui. The cocktails were good, overall kinda disappointing.

The evening ambiance was very enjoyable and soothing. The food was great, specially the O’toro, and I overall had a great experience. It was a tad pricey for the portions delivered, but the food itself was very high quality and savory. Would recommend.

One of my favorite restaurants on Maui. The best cocktails I’ve had in a while. The spicy lilikoi mezcalita was amazing!! The edamame hummus was so good. The sushi was fresh and delicious. Great service. Beautiful atmosphere. I can’t wait to come back!
