I have been going to Van Holtens Chocolates for many years and they never disappoint. From jelly beans to taffy, chocolate delights to edible gifts and don’t forget the holiday delectables. The family owned business gives the personal touch and goes out of their way help. I constantly use their delicious chocolate wafers to make treats for family and friends. They are friendly and personable. There’s no one else like them so enjoy if you get the chance!

I was told that they would have Carmel covered apples for Thanksgiving. I was there a week prior to Thanksgiving. She said to me. No, not until we get closer to Thanksgiving. I said okay, fine and I left the store only to come back 2 days before Thanksgiving and I asked about the caramel apples on a Tuesday. She’s, we’ll have them tomorrow meaning Wednesday. With that being said, they should really take an order instead of just blowing me off they are not going to last too much longer. As you can see, all the good posts were 5 years ago.

Wow the people here are so extremely rude. I’ve never been talked to like that before while spending my money in a small business. The lady was so rude when I simply just asked if an item had peanuts. Peanut allergies are a common thing no reason to make the customer feel wrong for asking.. The way they talked to their customers you’d think they didn’t like money. It wasn’t just to me either. The man was talking extremely rude to another woman asking simple questions to the point where when she caught on to the off putting vibe. Not even worth it the chocolates were overpriced and nothing special. Won’t be returning.

WAYYYY overpriced! Average chocolate. Aldi sells MUCH BETTER Chocolate! Rude owners. They gave us the wrong chocolate filled candies and we went back a few days later and the owner said “oh”. That’s it… just “oh”.( with an attitude!) … and did not offer to make it right. Never again!

I know the chocolate is home made but even for that I still feel it is very pricey. I also was not impressed with their chocolate. The truffles were weird. The inside truffle part had a weird texture and was alot thinner of a goo center than I would otherwise expect from a truffle. The “creams” were also gross. The creme centers did not taste like the flavors they claimed they were. The maple kind of smelled like maple but did not taste like maple at all. Other chocolates tasted old… like the creme center was now solid from being so old. For $35 for a little over a pound I expected better I guess.

I went here to get my son’s chocolate lollipops for his birthday favors in dinosaur shapes and they came out really nice and tasted good. I also got other candy for the tables and pinatas here so I spent alot of money , half the Taffy was like rock hard while the other half was fresher and a little hard as it should be , all together I was satisfied.
