Reviews
Gorgeous cafe though. Definitely worth just going in and looking. The garden and seating area outside is really pretty too.
The staff was friendly and helped us warm up our coffee which was cooled down due to cold weather. There is soy milk option which is my favorite and with additional charge in other places at self-serving bar.
Their pastries looked delicious but we didn’t have chance to try this time.
1. I get asked if I want or don’t want food/pastries/coffee as the line moves before reaching cashier, making everything confusing.
2.The cashier/barista is really distracted, the staff is really young and untrained.
3. Because of distractions I was charged two extra cookies (each bakery product it’s $5) and extra juice ($3) (I’ll explain this)
4. After accepting the first cookie due to distractions of the cashier/barista, we get charged 30 bucks for two cold lattes and 3 pastries (coffee cake and one cookie (handled to us by mistake) and a mistakenly charged small apple juice). Me and gf proceeded with the purchase thinking the place it’s simply overpriced
5. When picking up the pastries (which I forgot to mention they were cold and served poorly) the barista/cashier handles me and my gf the apple juice, we told her we didn’t order that and we got charged for a juice we never asked for… barista seemed confused just if she messed up two different orders.
6. Barista offers to give another cookie in exchange of the apple juice… we proceed.
7. When trying the coffees (we ordered to cold lattes with caramel and almond milk) we realized the flavor was weird and we came to the conclusion the coffee is not fresh and reheated from previous days.
8. When taking a closer look, we see milk was really dense and had cloths and was easily separating from the coffee (milk and coffee seemed caducated and old)
9. We decide to leave everything on the table and bring this to the attention of the kids, which seemed perplexed and didn’t know how to act. I tried to be empathetic with all of them expressing how I know the milk problem it’s not their fault but they should check all of that prior to preparing drinks…
10. The same barista who charged us the two extra items and made everything confusing told me that “it was the caramel that was causing this effect”. I simply said that I don’t think so as I worked as a barista before… (I tried to be as polite as possible)
11. The girl offers me another coffee to compensate but I rejected the offer as she did that with the juice/cookie situation. And I lost my appetite after drinking that latte…
Things I would recommend:
1. Please train staff and how to correctly attend customers with ORGANIZATION.
2. Find a way to heat pastries and have fresh food! Everything tastes OLD
3. Really overpriced, payed more and had a worse experience than in a Starbucks at NYC.
4. Stop trying to fix problems by offering more food, simply refund the money or negotiate with customer prior to force them to take another item instead
5. Place looked dead-ish inside.
6. Prices not worth service and quality.
Hope this review helps, I understand they are young baristas, but a good training session could help a lot!
Terrible coffee. This was so bad, that all 4 adults abandoned the coffees).
Brie & Ham sandwich just OK.
Strawberry Salad was good.
Cannoli was pretty good.
Marble cake was dry.
3 members of staff … all lacking joy in their work.
Considering that access to the coffee requires tickets to the museum, it approaches highway robbery.
Don’t bother. Bring your own snacks and drinks.
