A True Neighborhood Tavern With its homelike atmosphere, the Valley Lodge is one of the iconic and go-to restaurants on the North Shore. Founded in 1969 by brothers Peter and Taki Adamis, the Glenview location quickly became THE popular dining destination. In 1997, new owners Bill and George Stavrou carried forward the tradition in Glenview, and later in 2014 when they opened its Wilmette location. Our philosophy has always been and is to create a true neighborhood tavern. One where our guests can be comfortable, relax, and take the whole family, friends, business associates, or even the whole team where they can enjoy quality service and exceptional food at a great value.

I have had a few meals here and am usually pleased, but recently I ordered their kale salad, and what I got is just not ok, especially for the price ($17). Attached photos of what is shown on the menu vs what was received. Mine also came with no apples, which was not requested. Really disappointed.

When I’m in this part of town, I always make it a point to stop in for lunch or dinner. I’ve been here over a dozen times in the past four years, and not once have I had a bad experience with either the service or the food. I’m always trying something new, and everything I’ve ordered has been flavorful and delicious.
If you sit at the bar, the bartenders are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home. They mix a fantastic cocktail, too. I highly recommend this spot to anyone in the Glenview, Northbrook, or Northfield area or if you live in the city like me and want to try something different head north it’s truly a great place!

I have driven by this restaurant for over 40 years and never went there until today. The food was very good as was the service. The menu offered a wde variety of items. There was some Blackhawks sports memorabilia on the wall which was cool.

Went to the Valley Lodge Tavern. We ordered some very nice drinks. Martini was well made. My wife enjoyed her wine. The waitress was welcoming and very nice. Great place for drinks. Sadly, I have to say the food was substandard. My friend ordered the Shrimp Scampi and I ordered the ribs. Note: we were very surprised at how small the order of pasta was that came with the Shrimp Scampi. It seems like a side dish. Also the food had very little taste and seemed overcooked and kind of rubbery, especially ribs. Might want to talk to the cooks on that… However, the waitress was outstanding. Lastly, the atmosphere was wonderful, people seem very happy to be there.

Our family loves dining at this restaurant, and we visit quite often. The food is consistently delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. Went here with my mother. Chicken was remarkably bland, almost no taste; the salad was great (although why you’d spend $6 on that few shrimps???); the drinks were superb and the cheesecake was really good. A little on the expensive side but we did get some decent service with okay food.
Strike one: the maitre d’ wore tatty and torn jeans, with kind of a gross sweater; my mother commented on it very strongly, saying that if she wore those kinds of jeans at her job she’d be immediately fired (considering she wears jeans at her job anyway).
Strike two: the chicken was, like I said, bland and almost tasteless. It was crunchy and the chicken itself was moist but it had almost no flavor to it.
Strike three: it was incredibly loud in there. Admittedly we didn’t know it was Thursday Night Football but it was just…way too loud.
In summary: Don’t know if I’d go back for the fried chicken, would probably go back for the salad (minus shrimp, which added nothing) and the drinks. 4/5 stars because the service was great.
