I really enjoyed my country fried steak, especially the gravy! I love the atmosphere, and old bank building right on down to the vault. Separate bar area looked interesting, as did the buffet too. I’m not sure if they offer a buffet? I found the wall covered with old pictures of the area fascinating. Did not have room, but would have loved to give a try at their dessert menu, love the variety and pictures! Will have to start with dessert next trip. And want to give their Brunswick Stew a try too.

Service was really good and the waitress was VERY easy on the eyes. The food isn’t the freshest, what’s labeled on the menu doesn’t stand up to scrutiny (fresh local freshwater fish), and wasn’t too bad. Their dessert menu looked pretty good. I had the chicken liver which was a bit overcooked and dry for my particular taste, but might be fine for some. The stuffed mushrooms were microwaved, which is an unforgivable shortcut in a restaurant with a kitchen and a chef. The collared greens were good. It was very competitively priced with the 4, yes 4, Mexican restaurants in town (weird).

My husband and I went to Valley Cafe for their Sunday buffett. We arrived there around 4 pm. We didnt know that the buffett ended at 3pm. I asked our waitress about the buffett and she said its 11 to 3 every Sunday. So we continued to order something else. She put my husband down because he didnt want gravy on his hamburger steak. Then she said “what kinda of Dufus would come here for a buffett when it was at the end of time for it”. I told her we thought the buffett was offered to closing time which was 8pm. She was just flat out hateful to us. We got up and left and we’ll never be back!

Night and day difference in every aspect from our experience at another local restaurant yesterday morning. The waitress was prompt, attentive, and friendly. Our food arrived promptly hot out of the kitchen. Everything that we expected before beginning the shirt drive to Highlands for the day. We will be back!

It’s a FIRST for me, reviewing a dinner, breakfast and lunch consecutively and never multiple meals traveling, it’s just that dang GOOD
I was staying nearby for a few days while road tripping and hiking the mountains nearby and walked to the restaurant and I was sure glad that I did it.
I highly recommend this wonderful cafe with great home-cooking,, comfort foods, delicious sweet tea and wonderful staff and service , Eat all your meals here, prices are very reasonable, the food and staff is great and you don’t have to cook, or clean the dishes and OMG the delicious desserts
3rd meal was LUNCH: Late lunch. I had to try the cheeseburger was perfectly cooked and seasoned and french fries that were crispy and not soggy, and perfectly timed to the burger prep. Sidney took excellent care of me, keeping the sweet tea flowing after a day of hiking . It was just as delicious as the dinner ️ the previous night and breakfast this morning. An amazing piece of carrot cake to go .
2nd meal was BREAKFAST: So good I ate half of the biscuits and gravy before remembering to take a picture and Key was great taking care of me for breakfast.
1st meal was DINNER: Amazing comfort food ️ served with a side of wonderful service by Dawn.
Mama’s recipe meatloaf and (2) sides that I selected were mashed potatoes with brown gravy and hush puppies because I hadn’t eaten hush puppies for years , a glass of sweet tea and a chocolate meringue pie to-go! Yummy

Really excellent!
Shrimp and grits was so good my wife, Boston Betty, may actually learn to eat “Georgia Ice Cream” .
Her French Onion Soup was the first restaurant instance that was not overly salty. Betty tasty.
Corn casserole was very good.
Very happy we came here.

Nice atmosphere, great service and fabulous food! Bowl of French onion soup was delicious, filled with croutons and onions, topped with cheese, and broth was perfect! Most soups are too salty, but this was spot on. Shrimp and grits was a generous portion that included 8 shrimp over cheesy grits, in a flavorful Cajun cream sauce. The corn casserole side was delectable. Wish there was room for aslice of one of their house made cakes!

My grandson and I really enjoyed the hamburgers. We had the choice of ordering off the menu or eating from the all-you-can-eat bar.
Our waitress was very upbeat and friendly.
The vintage photographs lining the walls were interesting and added to the overall experience.
