We were greeted right away by our cheerful server, who explained the menu and took our drink order. I went with the mocktail, St. Peri Spritz (there’s also a version with alcohol). While waiting for the rest of our group to arrive, we played some of the games available. There were several other groups there, some with kids, and the noise level was just right for conversation.
When everyone arrived, we placed our full order: cheese curds for an appetizer, then a variety of burgers with sides including fries, Brussels sprouts, and cauliflower.
The cheese curds came out first — a generous portion and served hot. The breading had (what I think) chili flakes mixed in, giving it a little spice without being overpowering. Very good. The accompanying Spicy Valley Sauce was a nice addition and, again, not too hot.
The burgers followed shortly after, and they were all excellent. I had the Wisco Whiz with cheddar, whiz, bacon, dijonnaise, caramelized onion, pickles, and a pretzel bun. It was almost perfect. The only disappointment was the bacon, which was tough and detracted from an otherwise amazing burger, so I set it aside. All the sides we ordered were also very good — my Brussels sprouts were outstanding.
Overall, a fantastic first visit. Excellent burgers, friendly service (thanks Aubrey), and a casual atmosphere. Would love to come back again (hold the bacon).
The line was out the door, and deservedly so. Once we were seated, the service was fast, friendly, and professional, and the food was just as great as we remembered.
Whenever we’re back in Eau Claire, we’ll definitely stop in again for another excellent burger.
Quite literally the best quality burger! My sister and I had the classic burger, frys, and cheese curds. We substituted a gluten-free bun and the frys and cheese curds were gluten-free too. My sister has celiacs. They were very accommodating. The staff was super nice.
It is a small building with a home town restaurant/bar atmostphere. Loved the experience. And they fry their food in beef tallow! Love that!
The rotating burger specials keep it fun and give you a reason to keep coming back. And can we talk about the cocktails? So good — and honestly not something you’d necessarily expect walking in. They clearly put thought into them!
Please try this place. Amazing burgers
One of the best burgers I’ve had in a very long time. The quality of ingredients is locally sourced and of the highest standards. All burgers are smash burgers on amazing sesame seed buns.
The service was fantastic, the atmosphere was great, establishment was super clean and food was great. Portion size reflects the price and the quantity.
Also, restrooms were clean and neat and plenty of parking.
I would definitely eat here again and look forward to trying more items off the menu.
Inside is very comfortable, but not big. Maybe ten tables? The servers were definitely very busy and our drinks sat, but they were very friendly and food came out in a timely manner.
My husband ordered a regular cheeseburger and I ordered the Wisco Whiz. They were double smash burgers and were about average, probably a little better. Their signature Valley sauce is awesome though! I think that’s what made these burgers a little bit better than the average.
My hubby wasn’t a fan of the fries as they had skin on them, but I absolutely loved them.
All in all, I’m glad we came and checked it out! I’d love to come back in the summer and sit on the patio!
(the pickles are so crispy and yummy by the way!)
