I had a wonderful experience at this Mexican restaurant. I ordered the steak taco and Camarón al mojo de ajo (shrimp sautéed with butter and garlic), and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The steak taco was flavorful and well-seasoned, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked—tender, buttery, and rich with garlic flavor.

What really stood out, though, was the service. The staff were amazing—super friendly, attentive, and very professional. They made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in and ensured everything was perfect throughout the meal.

Overall, a fantastic dining experience. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great Mexican food and outstanding service!

Vallejos completes the Sacramento eateries – this spot has a very standard, you-know-what-to-expect Cal-Mexican food vibe. I got my usual tester dish, hard shell chicken taco, and it was good. Very full and with all the usual fixings. Pretty decent sized restaurant. Family owned.

my friends and i got a table here and had a great time, energetic atmosphere without being too loud and there is a clean fancy bathroom. large salsa and guac serving sizes for the group and delicious nachos that kept well as leftovers a few hours after. they turned the volume up for us to watch Bad Bunny’s performance at the superbowl!

My family decided to try this restaurant as we love Mexican food, and the reviews were good. This restaurant did not disappoint. We were greeted and seated immediately (on a Friday night). The customer service that we received was amazing. We met one of the employees (Jose), and he told us to let him know if we needed anything. He checked on us regularly. The food was delish and they give you large portions of food. I got the fajita mix with chicken, steak, and chicken. I’ll be back next time I’m downtown and craving Mexican food.

A few months ago, I had weekday lunch at Vallejo’s. It’s a family owned and operated restaurant serving up authentic Mexican food. They are located in the corner of 4th and S Street in downtown Sacramento.

The one item lunch special is $8.50, two $14.25, and three $17.50. Lunch special is served everyday until 4pm. After 4pm, you can still order the combos and the only thing g that changes is the one item pricing increases by a dollar. Really! The plates come with Spanish rice and beans. They also serve complimentary chips n green salsa. The salsa has a lot of flavor. Nice consistency. My faves are the shredded beef taco, pork tamale, chicken enchilada… who am I kidding… I think I’ve tried almost every menu item and haven’t eaten anything I haven’t liked. The tacos are served in a crispy fresh fried shell of your choice of corn or flour tortilla. The enchilada sauce is darn delicious.

This location opened in 1992. But it gives off modern vibes. No trapped in time warp here. But what has stayed consistent is the delicious food, welcoming vibes, comfortable atmosphere, and attentive customer service. Another thing to note is the parking is metered street parking.

On a rainy Sunday afternoon was looking for Mexican food.

Mexican food is great in CA so the bar is high, but Vallejo didn’t even cross the bar for cooking at home with a a taco mix pack from Safeway. Food lacked flavor and meat was bone dry.

And gosh do they love to upcharge. $2.95 for a dollop of sour cream, you want another one because its too small, another $2.95. And then my partner asked for her Guac to be on the side and gave it to me. They charged me for her Guac as my side. I fought them on that and the attitude of entitlement “Don’t forget to tip the new norm 25%” just makes eating out awful all around.

P.S. All these five star reviews are bogus. The same restaurant in Yelp is 3.2 stars.

I had the lunch special with 2 shredded beef crispy tacos. The food was good – but not great. A little lacking in the greasy flavor I like. The inside of the restaurant is quite noisy which made it somewhat difficult to hold a conversation. Overall, this is good, but not great and I likely won’t be back soon.

Massive, broad selection of nearly every type of Mexican food you can think of. Really well prepared and highly delicious. Staff was very attentive.

Our large group tried 10 different dinners from across the menu. Extremely tasty meals. I’d call them all abundant–a tremendous amount of food is on your plate.
