What really stood out, though, was the service. The staff were amazing—super friendly, attentive, and very professional. They made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in and ensured everything was perfect throughout the meal.
Overall, a fantastic dining experience. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great Mexican food and outstanding service!
The one item lunch special is $8.50, two $14.25, and three $17.50. Lunch special is served everyday until 4pm. After 4pm, you can still order the combos and the only thing g that changes is the one item pricing increases by a dollar. Really! The plates come with Spanish rice and beans. They also serve complimentary chips n green salsa. The salsa has a lot of flavor. Nice consistency. My faves are the shredded beef taco, pork tamale, chicken enchilada… who am I kidding… I think I’ve tried almost every menu item and haven’t eaten anything I haven’t liked. The tacos are served in a crispy fresh fried shell of your choice of corn or flour tortilla. The enchilada sauce is darn delicious.
This location opened in 1992. But it gives off modern vibes. No trapped in time warp here. But what has stayed consistent is the delicious food, welcoming vibes, comfortable atmosphere, and attentive customer service. Another thing to note is the parking is metered street parking.
Mexican food is great in CA so the bar is high, but Vallejo didn’t even cross the bar for cooking at home with a a taco mix pack from Safeway. Food lacked flavor and meat was bone dry.
And gosh do they love to upcharge. $2.95 for a dollop of sour cream, you want another one because its too small, another $2.95. And then my partner asked for her Guac to be on the side and gave it to me. They charged me for her Guac as my side. I fought them on that and the attitude of entitlement “Don’t forget to tip the new norm 25%” just makes eating out awful all around.
P.S. All these five star reviews are bogus. The same restaurant in Yelp is 3.2 stars.
Frank thank you for having awesome team to serve us.
Our large group tried 10 different dinners from across the menu. Extremely tasty meals. I’d call them all abundant–a tremendous amount of food is on your plate.
