Saw this place last month passing by and wanted to visit and wasn’t disappointed at all. I’m more of a bar seat guy and loved the vibe and atmosphere. All happy faces around. Went for the tap beer. The only agenda I had. Serving staff was the most friendliest I have ever seen in the business of bars.

Very different food quality when you order a delivery and when you eat in-person!

Ordered masama veg curry- watery, hardly any veggies in it, seems like they added water just to make a little left over a full dish. they also forgot to send rice with it!! How was I supposed to eat it!!

When I went to this restaurant in person, total change. This curry was creamy, very good amount of veggies. Great presentation. That made me order home delivery this time.
Pathetic experience.

To their owner- if you want to keep people coming to your restaurant, please maintain the quality for in-person and delivery orders!

Valhalla… what can I say? Awesome.
Listed as a “dive bar”. I’ve been in a few dives. Valhalla is more folksy than dive.

Probably the perfect place if you’re a Minnesota Vikings fan. Lots of homage paid to Nordic culture. No problem with that.

On to the experience. Found myself in the mood for some mead.

One of the very knowledgeable and super cool bartenders set me up with a tasty and enjoyable mead flight.

The sweet meads got the taste buds for something a little sour. Fortunately the bar has a few sour options on tap.

I saw about 15 brews on tap…and a nice selection of NY whiskey at the bar.

Ordered some sliders and fries. Gotta sate the appetite and keep the booze buzz at bay.

The munchies came out in under 15 minutes. Good, hot, yummy. Nothing too spectacular or fancy. Just a good good burger like one would get at a bud’s house on a Friday night when the game is on.

Really cool vibe, just a laid-back atmosphere.
It’s located in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen, I believe.

Stayed about three hours.
Had the mead flight, the meal, two sours, a stout and a pour of rye to cap things off.

Came to about $85 including 15 tip.

Fun crowd, busy but not packed at happy hour. Staff were WONDERFUL! So professional, quick and fun!

One of my favorite neighborhood bars, but the drinks aren’t very good, except for some beers. The service is acceptable, but they don’t change drinks if you don’t like them. They only accept card payments if you have a $10 check, which isn’t convenient if you just want to have one drink during happy hour. You have to force yourself to have something else or prepare cash. Why…?

But it’s still the neighborhood bar…

We had a nice time on a Friday with friendly service and good vibes at this bar. It does have one of the most hilariously designed men’s bathrooms I’ve ever seen (if someone opens the door while you’re using the urinal, you better have brought your own privacy shield) but the selection of beers is high tier for the area. Unfortunately the prices are verging on extortionate even for nyc. $12 at a beer bar for a 12 oz. CAN of nonalcoholic light beer? That is enough to make someone never come back. Even $5 for a smaller-than-average glass of Diet Coke is pretty absurd for the area. Unfortunate for an otherwise pretty good experience, and enough to cross this bar off the list of places we would ever return to.

Also, do not order the fried pickles.

The reviews I read before going were accurate: very good food and great beer selection. (I had the bratwurst and fries and a flight of 5 beers, plus a pint.) The service was very friendly and everyone in the place seemed to take on the same, friendly mood. It’s everything you want in a pub IMO. I did not give it 5 stars because they charge $5 for soda water, which I found out when I got the check. A small glass (~12oz and filled with ice) of seltzer from the soda gun. I had 3 seltzer waters assuming they were free but would have happily gotten tap water if the bartender had given me a heads up. I understand the gas for the tap isn’t free. But $5 per glass of seltzer? Everything else was great and I’ll definitely go back.

Whether you are a tourist or a local, this place got you (beer selection wise). Personally, I like their options of lager and kölsch.

My partner and I were here at their happy hour (I think, between 2-5pm; you need to check). Friendly bartenders, not too loud (at least during the time when we were there), and clean bathroom(s).

Valhalla is a great low-key neighborhood spot for a drink. The beer selection is solid, and the staff always bring great energy that makes the place feel welcoming and relaxed.

My favorite bar in Hell’s Kitchen. The beer collection is great and the atmosphere is warm, cozy, and happening. With a combination of Rock and pop music there are televisions with baseball on them. I love their Wheat beer collection and sours. The food is great but I feel it’s a little overpriced.
