Vale’s Kafe is, without question, the best brunch in North Jersey!! The food here isn’t just great—it’s always delicious. Every visit delivers a flawless 5-star experience, with consistently fresh, high-quality ingredients crafted into memorable dishes.

The magic truly comes from Pablo and his wife. You can feel their care in everything they do—from how they greet you at the door, to the thoughtful menu they create. They’ve built a place that feels like a genuine extension of their own kitchen, dedicated to serving the community with heart and remarkable integrity. A truly exceptional find!

Hello my Foodies! I normally don’t give 5 stars all around. But this place gets 5 stars all around. First time visiting this corner coffee/Cafe. It was very simple decor but felt welcoming. The owner Pablo was super kind and he talked with us about the restaurant and the food and how they make it. His love of food and his restaurant was very apparent in his service and kindness to his guests. The food we had was a chorizo omelet and the waffles. I normally don’t care for waffles but dang! This was good! Even the coffee was such a lovely presentation and the taste was good. The food menu is small but there is something for everyone to try. They have a different menu for brunch and dinner and from the weekend to the weekday. If you are in North Bergen please stop by to visit. Again it is a small place and you will need to find street parking but its worth it. We will be back to try the other items and its BYOB too..

Vale’s Kafe & Kitchen has always been my favorite brunch spot since I moved to NJ 3-4 years ago (don’t sleep on the steak and eggs!). So when I heard they were doing a pop-up for dinner I had to go. The dinner was amazing and exceeded my expectations- we licked every plate clean. The owners truly love what they are doing and you can tell by how delicious their food is. A local gem!

The food was amazing! If you’re in the area, don’t hesitate to stop by. This hidden gem has super friendly staff and is definitely worth a visit.

This is review #2 with added pictures since Google only allows me to write one review per business..

If you ever have the privilege of dining at this restaurant, don’t forget to say hi to Pablo, the owner—he’s truly an amazing human being: kind, personable, and passionate about what he does. We were just there yesterday and tried the crab cake from the specials menu—it was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. I have no idea what ingredients he uses, but I hope he never changes the recipe!
My husband ordered the steak and eggs and said he was transported to another place.
I’m almost hesitant to write this because it’s such a hidden gem, but they deserve the recognition. Pablo and his team are absolutely rocking it in the kitchen!

This is a hidden gem in UC! The steak was SO savory and perfectly cooked. We wanted everything on the menu so I had the steak and eggs and my daughter had the avocado toast and we shared the waffles and each others dishes. 🙂 It was too much so I took some to go. The coffee latte (they had oat and almond milk as dairy alternatives) is was PERFECT. The worst thing for me is when coffee is watered down but this one was strong. Definitely a good coffee to start it off right!! The bathroom was tiny but very clean. Extra points there. The service was too notch. Sosa was the right amount of attentive and cleared the dishes and had a calm attitude. I never go to UC as I despise how condensed it is but for this place, I would go back.

Absolutely amazing brunch experience. The food menu was curated with perfectly balanced flavors, I felt like I was in a Michelin starred restaurant. I ordered the poached pear on honey ricotta toast and it was delicious, without being too sweet. I can’t wait to try everything else on the menu!

Vale’s Kafe & Kitchen is a GEM! Located on the corner of 22nd street & Kerrigan Avenue in Union City, it’s a small but very nice cafe. Food & service are spot-on; every 5 star rating is highly deserved. My husband & I went for afternoon brunch on a Sunday & while there was a very slight wait when we arrived, it would have been worth any wait.

The atmosphere was calm & tranquil, even though it was packed. Freddy’s service was wonderful. Vale is on top of everything from seating guests to answering questions to bringing orders. We could tell there’s a lot of thought & care that goes into this establishment & it shows in every aspect, especially in service & flavorful food.

The prosciutto Benedict was eggcellent (couldn’t resist) w/ a well-balanced hollandaise sauce, the best perfectly toasted English muffin, wonderfully poached eggs & right amount of prosciutto. The very slightly dressed side salad added a touch of acidity to counter the hollandaise and slices of watermelon radish added crunch as well as to the presentation. My husband ordered the steak & eggs; the well-seasoned steak was cooked to perfection as were his over easy eggs. The biscuit was so tasty my husband, who isn’t a biscuit person, ate it before I could get a bite. The Chimichurri was herby and perfectly packed with flavor. The French toast with berries was the best French toast we’ve had to date from anywhere (including our home and we can cook). Light and flavorful, not soggy at all & topped w/ well cleaned fruit: ripe blueberries, strawberries & some sliced oranges & apples. Our side of crispy polenta was everything you’d want it to be: freshly fried, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside sitting atop of a sauce that should be bottled and sold (hint of horseradish?) w/ shavings of Parmesan on top. We’d 1000% eat these dishes again. When other normal people would ask for the bill, we ordered the poached pear ricotta toast which was so nice. The coolness of the whole poached pear (poached w/ ginger & cinnamon) was a delight juxtaposed w/ the creamy ricotta atop the warm toast. Cappuccinos were perfect w/ the right amount of foam (smooth & strong but no jitters). The fig & burrata flame toast looked delectable from what we could see as it went by us to another table.

We loved the little touches from the small glass jar holding cubes of raw sugar w/ mini tongs (that perfectly sat in the locking mechanism of the jar) to the artwork on the wall created by a talented 2nd grader with a wonderful sense of color, to the small trays with black metal legs in the case holding pastries, to the plants that sit overhead. You feel like you’re at a friend’s place & everyone that’s part of this establishment is a little family w/ Vale & her husband being the leaders of a winning team. You feel good energy. From the way Freddy took our order to the way Vale placed our plates on the table & was attentive & checking on not only us but everyone else, & then of course add the beautifully plated & mouthwatering food made by Vale’s husband & his team of food wizards, you feel at ease & happy to be there. Vale’s is a place to enjoy- enjoy a good meal, enjoy the atmosphere, enjoy good company, to experience a moment to breathe & relax. It’s not a place to inhale your food & go, expecting everything in a rushed manner.

My husband texted friends to check Vale’s out & they came after we had left. We have a goal now to eat our way through Vale’s menu & can’t wait to see what’s in store in the future because we’ll be there to try it! Food is its own love language. This is a true labor of love by this small team full of heart & we appreciated our time there & will be back. Please do yourself a favor & treat yourself to a lovely experience & some truly wonderful food.

Update 10/19/25: Went back & ate w/ abandon! Dang Google character limit! Vale’s burger (we got 2), Avocado toast, Vale’s omelet, churro waffles= FANTASTIC. JUST GO, eat w/ gusto & enjoy!

My friend Cristina, who had been raving about this place for a long time, treated us to my husband’s birthday brunch here, and she was not wrong. What a gem! The service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and the place was very clean with a nice atmosphere. It’s also BYOB, which makes it even better. Such a great addition to the community. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back with my family!

Absolutely phenomenal! Pablo and Sosa and everyone here have made this a don’t miss experience. The food is special. The service impeccable. Don’t miss the artwork by Pablo’s daughter, Vale, the restaurant’s namesake. Cannot wait to visit again and bring other people I love!

I visited Vales Kafe and Kitchen and had a wonderful experience. I ordered the chicken sandwich, French toast, a latte, and a cappuccino. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The chicken sandwich came with a side of taro chips, which I absolutely loved—they were a unique and tasty touch. Both the coffee drinks were excellent, and the French toast was perfectly done. Overall, I enjoyed everything I tried and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
