Stopped in for a breakfast burrito, and it was good. They’re made to order, very large, and fresh. The eggs were cooked perfectly (not over or underdone) and the cheese was nice and melty.
The young man working the counter was friendly and service was fast. I also appreciated the decent salsa bar with good flavors.
Skip the guacamole, though—it was bland and hardly tasted of avocado. Overall, a great spot for a quick, hearty breakfast

The young girl got my order wrong. I believe it’s the owners daughter. Asked for a carne asada burrito and got a California, and the Cali was very disappointing. Sometimes the place is great, very hit and miss. Quality of produce and some of the service has gone way down since the change of ownership. Can’t buy cheap produce guys! I used to be a customer for life. Not anymore.

I had a very disappointing and concerning experience with the SD burrito. While the flavor and presentation were initially acceptable, the meal became completely unacceptable when I discovered a long piece of stainless steel Brillo pad embedded in the burrito. I may have eaten some of it in the first few bites…only time will tell. This is a serious food safety issue and poses a significant risk of injury.
To their credit, the staff did refund my order and made another burrito. However, the presence of a foreign metal object indicates a clear breakdown in kitchen safety and quality control. Even with the corrective action taken, this incident overshadowed the entire experience and eliminated any confidence I had in the establishment’s food handling practices.
I hope management takes this matter seriously and addresses it immediately to ensure the safety of future customers. At this time, I cannot recommend eating here.

Ok so I couldnt take pics because we ate everything so fast. But the food here is amazing. Seems like they are always open. And the quality is always good no matter what time I stop in. Promise. Its a hole in the wall that everyone will enjoy

The portion sizes compared to other local Mexican food places is too small. Got the Carne Asada Nachos and ended up with the ratio of very little meat/toppings and too many chips. They also charge more than places that give you more to eat. It tasted pretty good though. If you are in the mood to spend more for less food that has good flavor, come here.

My food had a piece of plastic in it. I ordered 3 crispy beef tacos to go on 7/12/25 at 5:12 pm. Is it a piece of a plastic wrap or is it a piece of a used condom I found stuffed in a taco? Who knows. I called to complain only to speak with three different ladies who kept saying “hold on” and pretended not to understand English. Similar situation occured during COVID season when burritos I ordered had big bare chicken bones inside of them instead of meat. For a while I stopped ordering from Valerie’s. I don’t know why I thought I’d give it another chance. Sadly, this experience was a whole different level of nasty. Stay away from Valerie’s before you get sick!! I will be filing a complaint with the County Health Department. I also hope the owner sees this review and takes prompt action.

Not sure what happened to Valerie’s Vista. I’ve been coming here for a long time but something has changed. I let it go the last few times I have been in but I can’t honestly support them any longer. The food has gone down the drain my last couple experiences as well as forgetting to add items that were ordered. Hopefully this will inspire the owner to make some changes as they were my go to Mexican food spot at one point. Ordered a California burrito and paid for extra guacamole. There was No guacamole on a burrito that was made with 70% burnt and cold French fries. Please do better Valerie’s. $13 is a lot to spend on a burrito that is not as advertised.

Waited in line at the Starbucks drive-thru and noticed this taco shop. Always willing to try new places, so I called and ordered three soft tacos: carne asada, carnitas, and abobada. She kept asking me what size and I just said large.
I didn’t realize they offered the smaller street tacos! The streets tacos are also only $1.99! Ugh.
Came inside to pay and they were still cooking my tacos. It’s really nice to see first-hand that they make the tacos “to order”, meaning as the order comes in. There isn’t a bin of overcooked carne sitting in a warmer tray like some places do.
While I waited, I poured a few salsas to try at home. $14 for three large (and I do mean large) soft tacos. When I got home, my wife and daughter all shared the tacos and at the end we were STUFFED. Wow. The abobada was the real star, too BTW.
Prices are great. A California Burrito is $10.79 right now…making this one of the cheaper taco shops in the city and that is great. I might have just found a new go-to.

This place was a bit disappointing. I ordered fish tacos, and what came out was fried fish sticks on a tortilla. They did not taste like fresh fish of any kind. I also tried their asada burrito, and that was decent, but not the best I’ve had.

Very kind staff! I put in a last minute order 5 minutes before they closed because I got off of work late. I showed up 4 minutes after they closed expecting them to have locked their doors, but they remained open for me to pick up my order. They were very nice to me when I came to pick up my order even though I came technically after hours. The food here is very delicious and has been consistently for years. I’ve been ordering from them since before 2020 and they’ve always had great service and a great staff. You will not be disappointed here!!! 100/10 recommend!
