Valentino Pizzeria Trattoria opened for business in Sarasota Florida on July 5th, 2006. Our family wanted to create a casual, family-friendly and energetic restaurant that served what we coin Grandma’s Italian Food. This simple, authentic and homemade cuisine borrows from every region of Italy, along with a little influence from our Northern New Jersey roots.
Traditional Italian meals prepared using locally sourced produce & served in simple, warm surrounds.

We had the Cardinale and the Eggplant Rottelini. Both were savory and satisfying in their own ways.
The cheesecake and the lemoncello cake were both worth the calories! Sooooo delicious!
I’m from Long Island, so trust me when I say I know good pizza — and theirs is!! I just realized they were originally established in New Jersey, and honestly it all makes sense now. The red sauce, the crust… it tastes like home. ❤️
Their whole menu is amazing, too — the chicken piccata, the chicken parm, literally every entrée is done right. You can tell they put pride and professionalism into everything they make.
If you haven’t been, go support this awesome local spot. You won’t regret it!
The food is classic Italian comfort food done really well. The pasta is fresh, the sauces are full of flavor, and everything is homemade in the best way. Whether you’re getting pizza, chicken parm, or their meatballs, you honestly can’t go wrong. And their bread is amazing!!!
It’s the perfect place for dinner with family and friends. Their party room is also great for a private party or dinner! If you’re looking for good Italian food with a family feel this place is definitely worth checking out.
My boyfriend went without me originally and then talked about their carmelina’s calamari for 3 weeks…
So he finally took me to try it & it did not disappoint. The pizza has a nice, crispy crust. So much flavor.
I ordered another drink and continued to wait. My order was delivered by 7:20 pm by the manager with no gesture made to make it right. I paid my billed and still tipped but I’m furious.
I usually get excellent service but for now I’m taking them out of the rotation.
It’s a lovely pizzeria with all the lovely smells that you would associate with wonderful Italian food.
They have a wide range of Italian dish and of course lots of pizza. That is what I came in for. It was lunch time so my folks and I were each going to get two slices and a drink. However it wouldn’t be much different than to order a large cheese and drinks. We opted for the large Valentino: garlic mushrooms, sausage, fresh tomatoes, and mozzarella.
After about 15 minutes the pie was brought out to us and it was a thing of beauty (look at my photos). The mozzarella had a nice long string when removed from the pan. And it was, as they say in Italy, delicious.
There is another Valentino Pizzeria Trattoria about a half mile from me so I believe I will be popping in to my local every once-in-awhile.
If you haven’t been then I recommend going.
