To start out they served a large portion of bread with some sort of ricotta and olive oil dip. The bread was warm. Crusty on the outside and soft in the center. The ricotta had a slight peppered flavor which paired well with the oil. Next we had the arugula & pear salad & the special which was grilled oranges and strawberry with some feta. It was huge, fresh, dressed just right, and everything you’d your salad to be.
For dinner we order the special, rigatoni in a marinara sauce with sausage, eggplant, & mozzarella along with the orange rosemary chicken. I almost didn’t believe how good it was. The pasta was seasoned so well with a hint of spice, and the chicken was tender and thin. Not the rubbery kind of chicken if you know what I mean. It was absolutely plenty to eat. No tiny portions here.
For dessert we shared the bomba and a decaf coffee. No one complained they had to make decaf and the dessert was so yummy.
As for the service, I read in some other reviews that it wasn’t great. We didn’t have that experience. Our waitress gave us the specials in a timely manner, and 3 others checked on us throughout our meal. To be honest, when I’m out with my husband, I’m not in a huge rush and don’t want to be bothered constantly.
It’s a 10/10 and under just under $150. I’d say that’s a perfect night out. We will be back again soon! -The Piccininos
I had the Braciola con gnocchi, the sauce was good, not acidic which is a big plus. The beef was cooked really tender, although it had raisins I did not taste them (thank god) and the gnocchi was good as well.
We also had Filet Mignon with mashed potatos… But the mashed potatos had nothing but potatos, so it was very ‘flat’ and the fillet mignon was sort of burned outside.
The deserts were really good, the bread pudding tastes light and with a combination of a sort of flan on the mix.
You can bring your own wine, it was a plus!
But… The service was really bad. The waitress rushed to say what was on the menu, half of it we didn’t even understand. She had a bad attitude, never came back to check on us and she took an extreme amount of time to take the order.
We would have had a better time if the service was a little bit friendly. Unfortunately that was a big turn down. I hope you guys improve that!
The place is very rustic and beautiful, tasteful decoration.
The food was not bad (at least the italian part), but we didn’t feel welcome and neither some other people on the surrounding tables.
Fast forward to the day of the dinner (Thursday night), I got a call from someone (hostess?) confirming our reservation and when I told her Paula had said we could bring our liquor and such over before, she seemed surprised. We did go over and had no problem setting up.
Once we arrived and were mingling, the same hostess seemed annoyed when we were standing talking as they had to seat people in the back room of the room we were using. I had known this before hand, but it was just the attitude she had about it.
Our meals all came out at different times and they left much to be desired. Small portions. Minimal taste. We had about 35 people. I understand it’s a good amount of people, but felt it could have been better.
Cute room for an event, but won’t be coming back.
