What a cool little place. As a small grocery, it is nice. The food was okay. The sandwiches really are nothing special. Not bad, but it didn’t knock my socks off like other little Italian deli’s around town can and do. The big flop was the service.

I was unsure where to wait to order my sandwich so I waited by the case. While there were numerous employees working behind the counter, and literally no other customers in the store, nobody greeted me for an awkwardly long amount of time. Maybe 5 actual minutes passed with me standing there and multiple employees working and even looking at me and never saying anything. Finally someone asked if I needed help. Yes, I want to order a sandwich.

I put in my order, and it took about 10 minutes to make the sandwich. Understandable as the meat was sliced to order, which was great. In that time, another person came into the store, grabbed a few items, and stood at the register for that same full ten minutes I waited for my sandwich. Numerous employees working around, one even said hi to her, and nobody asked to help her. I was then asked a second time if I needed help and said I was waiting for my food. The other customer, still ignored. It was awkward for both of us.

Finally, when my sandwich was done, they rang me out before she was rung out, and a second employee came to ring her out, and employee who walked past her numerous times while we stood there.

Just a very strange customer service experience. They have a lot of room to improve in this area.

On the plus side, during my long wait I was able to get photos of the grocery area and their cases and fridges. Lots of selection on the grocery side.

One more note. The cheesecake was not good. It was super dry. Do not recommend.

What a find for us! We used to eat at the old Valente’s on 38th Ave all the time. Turns out, Velente’s Deli and Market is run the nephew of the owner of that old Valente’s – great lineage! Valente’s Deli is a pasta lovers dream – there are so many different types – and flavors of pasta, I was spoiled for choice! The flavors of fresh ravioli are incredible – they are the exact flavors I make for myself – and several I really want to try. We didn’t pick up any meats or sausages this time, but I will be heading back specifically to their own sausage mix! What a fun place! This place is a little out of our way, but worth the effort

A very nice selection of Italian goods, some of my favorite childhood snacks.

However, customer service dropped my rating significantly.

I never write reviews but this place was especially upsetting. I don’t understand why be rude to someone new who is looking to purchase your goods, and excited to find a new spot.

I asked questions about the Deli meat, and that set the one employee helping me over the edge. He was rude the whole interaction, talking down to me.

Spent a decent bit to make a nostalgic charcuterie board with items, however will not be coming back due to the service.

Stumbled across this place by accident, it did not disappoint! I felt like I time traveled backwards and it was an amazing experience. Staff is very friendly and let us even try a sample of some of the cuts before we ordered our sandwich. The sandwich was incredible. You pay at the end so you can shop what the store offers. A lot of amazing goodies and great prices! Thank you for an amazing experience!!

Great Italian & some Peruvian choices. I bought frozen tortellinis that were wonderful! We came at an unexpected busy moment and yet everyone was very pleasant and cheerful, leading to an atmosphere I would want to shop at again! They are part of the One Book Westminster businesses to visit. What a Great place!

Valente’s is a hidden gem! The Valente sandwich was stacked and delicious, the sausage canoli was next-level, and the whole place has that authentic Italian market charm. Fast service, friendly owners and employees, and seriously crave-worthy food. Will definitely be back!

Plan on waiting. it is SO SO SO SLOWWWWW. even when it not busy at all, It takes forever for anybody to even acknowledge that you’re standing at the cash register waiting..god forbid if you order a sandwich or something from the deli, it takes forever I’m talking 20 minutes 15 minutes just to make a sandwich and check out. I’ve worked in 4 delicatessens ran a big franchise of bakery/ delis in 7 states and we always gear up for a lunch rush and we’re ready to go and we’re at the cash register ringing people up- keeping things moving. Every time I’ve been in there – there will be a line of people waiting wondering when they’re gonna get served or to check out. The last time I was in there people actually, put product back on the shelves and walked out the front door because they weren’t getting served. I am sure they see this as the door has a crazy loud buzzer. I would hope that someone works on the speed and efficiency behind the counter because you’re losing business… that said the product is good, the specialty selection is good. It’s just the speed.

OMG, this place is worth the trip if you want good Italian food makings! It was my first time going there and it’s a great deli and market! The staff are so kind! They stayed open late on Christmas Eve to help all customers.
Sadly, I’m amazed at how rude some customers are to the staff, and on Christmas Eve, no less! Where’s the Christmas love and caring?!
Thank you to Dino all the staff there!

Ordering and waiting to pay was a bit chaotic, it is a small locally owned business – so I get it.

Sandwiches were good overall, she liked her caprese better than I liked my spicy italian mostly due to the thicker cut oddly assembled onions and peppers I specifically asked 3 times to be left out, they were on there still.

Sausage and Meatball cannolis were not bad with sauce on the side, I was not a fan of the papper baked in the pastry, I dug it out before I ate it.

Tiramisu was pretty good.

Not a bad joint.

This is a great local “mom and pop” Italian sandwich/mini grocery shop that brings the local vibe to light.

I eat lunch here as often as I can. The freshly made sandwiches are to die for, the canoli’s are incredible, as well as the delicious sweets they make. I love chatting with the employees who are so nice and down to earth. Make sure to get some food here if you are in the area!

I had the POTENZA sub and it was scrumptious.
