We recently took over the Starbucks location and turned it into Vail Mountain Coffee & Tea CO (a local Colorado small business). Now we serve coffee roasted at out mothership Roastery Cafe in Minturn just 50 miles away. We offer several of our high altitude roasted coffees daily along with a full flight of espresso drinks and a selection of loose leaf teas. Our sweet and savory croissants, empanadas, and and cookies are baked in the cafe. Let us fuel your adventure on your way up the mountain and back home.

People were nice but food and coffee were so abysmal and overpriced, it can’t get more than 1 star. Would you pay 12$ for this tortilla? It reminded me of the 1$ frozen burritos I had in college. I don’t like to give bad reviews but I picked this place because of the 4.8 stars. Hopefully this review helps other people not fall in this trap

The empanadas were 8 dollars and mine had a paltry amount of filling and the dough was so crispy it fell apart in my hand. My friend describes his as a pizza roll that was only slightly larger than tostinos. The coffee was acceptable (got a drip coffee). The service was great. Very friendly staff.

Staff is very friendly and welcoming. It is a perfect place to stop for a break from driving. Oh, large parking, so don’t be afraid to bring in your moving vans or RV trailers.
While you are here, look for the hidden lost toys. Big Red Dog watched us eat.

We’ve driven by this spot for years and never stopped-that was a mistake! The baristas were friendly, the coffee was great and the empanadas were amazing (the sweet corn was my favorite). Such a cozy atmosphere for a shop first off the highway!

The baristas were kind, knowledgeable, and helpful and the food is incredible! My baby can’t have honey. When I asked the barista if he knew if the butter croissant had honey in it or not he said he’d check for me. Then he got out a binder and checked the recipe and ingredients. I so appreciate this effort and knowledge! He also was able to provide hot water to help us heat our baby’s bottle. The croissant was probably the best I’ve ever had. It was flaky, the bread stretched when pulled, and the simple flavor paired with the crunch of the outside and softness of the bread on the inside was simply heaven. My husband loves the empanadas. Savory and delicious! Make this your regular coffee stop in the mountains. I seriously doubt you’ll be disappointed.

My family and I stopped here on 23 Aug 2023, around 3:30 pm for a quick, pick-me-up and a bathroom break during our travel from Las Vegas, NV to Boulder, CO. This was a very relaxing stop because of the area this place was located and the general atmosphere inside the coffee shop. When we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly staff behind the counter. It wasn’t really busy, so it was quiet and extremely pleasant for us. In addition to being greeted, the employees continued their professional and friendly personalities while taking and preparing our order.

We ended up ordering the Matcha Latte with Oat Milk, Nitro Cold Brew, Beignet, and Chocolate Croissant. I’m not a big fan of sweets/desserts, but I will say that the Beignet was outstanding. My daughter also enjoyed her Croissant as well as her Matcha Latte. Normally, I drink my Cold Brew with a little bit of sweet cream; however, this time I didn’t order it that way and was glad that I did – the drink definitely didn’t need any additives since the coffee itself taste magnificent…even my wife said the same thing, and she’s a cream and sugar type of person.

Overall, it was an amiable stop for us and if you’re planning to pass through the area, I highly recommend you make a pit stop to enjoy the scenery and great coffee.

Welcomed upgrade from the old Starbucks! Better coffee and locally sourced breakfast food items. The empanada was great. Super friendly staff and had a bit more rustic feel.

Awesome little coffee and tea shop on your way i to the mountains. Gas station right next door so makes the perfect do it all pit stop. Decadent Salted Carmel cookie was the perfect compliment to an Assam tea. They also have muffins. Empanadas, breakfast burritos, and sandwiches all freshly made!
