Social Profile:

Inspired by Mumbai’s iconic Bombay Irani cafes and the diverse food culture brought to the city from all over India, Angela Gaikwad and Harry Singh established Newmarket’s V.T. Station with a vision to capture the magic of it’s historic namesake — Mumbai’s Victoria Terminus train station (now officially known by a different name). From its powerful flavours to its fresh ingredients and street-food sensibility, the menu takes diners on a culinary journey, spanning small share plates, larger Tandoori grills, mouth-watering curries and more. As perfect for a bite to eat as it is for a cocktail or two.

A very nice Indian Restaurant in New Market. They change the menu every now and then but the food is excellent. The Masala chai is very tasty and its served in a traditional Indian kettle. It is very refreshing. The cocktails served here are quite nice too. Among the starters served here the paneer maska, Mushroom Galoti kebab and Lamb chops are quite nice. The best dish here is the Goat Kulcha. Its absolutely delicious! In the mains the Kalaa Masala Chicken and the Lamb pepper fry are delicious too!

The improvements suggested are the butter chicken being too sweet and limited variety in desserts. They should definitely keep kulfis being an Indian restaurant. Also it can be a little bit noisy in there from time to time and hard to hear when you are trying to have a conversation with people on your table.

It is bit out of the way for most people given its in New Market with paid parking to be done. Its also a little costlier than other Indian restaurants.

However all said and done its definitely worth visit once in 6 months and overall very nice experience always being here!

I reservation of table is easy when done online. The food was excellent, the starters & mains took longer than expected that’s why a 4 for service, as the gaps were longer. But the food tasted amazing. Every single dish tasted different & freshly made.
Amazing atmosphere, food options & ambience.
Would definitely recommend going to VT Station

How did I miss this gem of a place. Dinner with friends, we decided to try out VT Station. Love love love the decor. Old style Indian train station vibes (not like I have been to a train station in India) , old school music which very quickly switches to modern from 10pm. Very knowledgeable and attentive staff who took time in explaining the menu to us. Spice levels vary for each dish but are not adjustable.
A unique cocktail menu which we had to try.
We opted for some veggie starters which were recommended. They were very tasty and good to order a few so it can be shared. Mains ordered ranged from chicken to lamb biryani to Goan prawn curry. None disappointed. Food was excellent. Highly recommend.

VT Station is a gem. On the last day of our NZ trip, we felt like having indian food near auckland domain and a quick google search led us to VT station.

Firstly, the ambience and decor was so nostalgic. The staff were so friendly. The menu was so well curated and had a mix of dishes and not just the usual curry.

We ordered pani puri, galouti kebab, pav bhaji, chicken malai kabab, gulab jamun and chai. It was all delicious. Special mention to the soft pav in pav bhaji. The pani for pani puri was so fresh and the chai was authentic and given in a kettle.

Loved every bit of it.

I wish they would open a branch of this restaurant in SF some day or in India 🙂

If you haven’t been to VT station yet, you need too! Everyone is so friendly and helpful, and the food was outstanding. This is not your usual curry & rice, but available if you prefer. Food is full of flavour, creative and artistically presented. Thank you team for a fantastic experience, looking forward to next time already 🙂

VT Station in Newmarket was such a great experience. I loved the curries, I ordered the goat karahi, which was cooked perfectly, and the butter chicken was delicious, creamy, and thick. The flavours were rich and well balanced, and everything tasted freshly made. The ambience was really nice, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, and the overall dining experience was excellent. Definitely a place I’d return to.

Full of flavour – maybe a bit too much, they have their own unique spin on Bombay street food (starters) but the mains were heavy/greasy and we could barely finish everything we ordered. Good selection of cocktails. Liked the Bombay railways concept but won’t be visiting again.

Their bottomless brunch was unreal. The food and drinks were genuinely amazing. I’m usually picky as, but this food actually had flavour. The pani puri were a full-on flavour explosion and the paneer kulcha and chilli chicken was honestly addictive.

I wandered in here by accident expecting very little.
the Pani Puri is the most fun I’ve had all week (DO get three or four of these!) and the staff are lovely. I’m drinking beer but the cocktails going out look incredible
