Stopped by Lagman Spot Uyghur Lagman House and loved it! The handmade lagman noodles were fresh and really flavorful, and the portions were generous. Cozy, simple spot with great food, highly recommended this place!

First time trying Uyghur food… had no idea what to expect but the food was amazing. Tried the spicy beef salad, qorima lagman, and a big plate chicken. All were fantastic. Beef salad was super refreshing. Medium big plate chicken was humongous – super flavorful chicken and the meat was very tender. Potatoes soaked up a bunch of flavor. Qorima lagman was my favorite – perfect noodz texture, stir fried(?) well, and excellent taste. Got a samsa to go which was also tasty and came with nice side sauces. Nawat tea was also nice – refilling the tea is free since you’re given the leaves to steep. Btw staff is also super friendly. All in all loved it and will come back!

If you haven’t tried Uyghur food yet, this spot in Rego Park is where you start. The hand-pulled noodles are the star springy, chewy, and tossed in a sauce that hits all the right notes: savory, slightly spicy, full of flavor.
I loved how everything felt homemade, like someone’s grandma was in the kitchen. The dumplings are a must-order, and even the simple tomato-cucumber salad is so fresh it balances the richness of the mains.
The vibe is casual and welcoming nothing fancy, but the food speaks for itself. It’s the kind of place you bring friends so you can order half the menu and share.
Highly recommend if you want something different from the usual takeout rotation.

My palate is well honed to locate Uyghur food. Every time capital “U” followed by two tails of “y” and “g” float by a picture of noodles or a skewer, it’s: wait, wait, go back! To me, this food is feels bright, exotic, luxurious.

This is how I spotted Uyghur Lagman House on Woodhaven Boulevard in Rego Park.

The restaurant is only a short straight walk from the R train stop. Not even ten minutes. The place is bright and clean, the servers are friendly and accommodating without a fuss, a few tables taken by obvious regulars. Our group of five fit right in.

We go out at odd times — around 4 PM. For most people, it is too late for lunch and too early for dinner. Maybe this is why we always — most of the times — can get a table.

Home Style Lagman – house pulled noodles in a beef broth with bell peppers, cabbage, spinach, and tomatoes. Delicious broth that I ended up drinking when everyone was full, tender meat and — the most important part — thick chewy long noodles. Not as spicy as some of us would have liked but for spice there are other lagman variations on the menu and a house made hot pepper relish was on the table.

Uighur Polo — lamb cooked in rice with chickpeas and raisins. Tender lamb, perfect rice with each grain separate.

Uygur Manta — lamb dumplings where meat is not ground but roughly chopped. Large and juicy.

Lamb Shish Kebab — that is what my food dreams are made of and I could never miss it on the menu no matter what. Love how in this culture they can eliminate the gamey taste, flavor the meat delicately not overpowering the lamb flavor, and cook it trough with a nice char outside but tender inside.

Chuchura — yes, hot soup when it is 90°F outside might sound strange but soups from that part of the world is my idea of heaven. No one can make broth thick, rich, deeply flavored but not fatty like they do. Beef based chuchura with dumplings and vegetables was just that.

Cucumber Salad — bright and crunchy, dressed with vinegar and sesame oil it reminded me of my favorite Tiger celery salad from Xi’an

Nan. I avoid bread in restaurants. It fills you fast and limits the number of thing to try. Since there were five of us we ordered some and good thing we did. Light and airy, it was perfect to sop up the last bits of juices from the other dishes we ordered.

Special Uyghur Tea flavored with the rock candy which gave the tea its caramel flavor had lemon, goji berries, dried figs, and rose flowers to name a few things. Only lightly sweet, tangy, and citrusy. We asked to refill out pot twice.

Between the five of us, we had no leftovers and now I am sad we didn’t order Special and Qorirma Lagmans, Big Plate Chicken, Scallion Lamb and Kazan Kabob that other tables ordered. Also sad about Mampar soup that floated by us to the next people over — boy, the scent! And samsa — should have ordered some to take home but forgot — a full belly does’t remember what’s it like being empty.

The most authentic and delicious Uyghur restaurant in NYC! After trying many different restaurants, Uyghur Laghman House impressed me the most. Highly recommend the Mung Bean Cold Noodles (Langpung) and MANPAR probably the only restaurant offering the traditional Uyghur Beef Noodle Soup. Definitely a foodies destination! Can’t wait to go back and try other menu items.

Tonight, we broke our fast at Uyghur Lagman House and were treated to an incredible culinary and cultural experience.
Finding authentic halal Chinese food is a journey, and we were so happy to discover this gem close to home. The food was simply outstanding – from the Lamb Shish Kebab to the Uyghur Manta and the unforgettable Special Lagman with its handmade noodles. The freshness and quality of the meat were remarkable, meats were juicy.
Beyond the food, the restaurant’s atmosphere was truly special. The small space was adorned with beautiful Uyghur art and musical instruments, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. Seeing the staff in their traditional hats really highlighted the authentic cultural experience. It was a feast for the senses, and I highly recommend it!

So delicious! My niece and I went to the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon and they were out of lamb and chicken! But the reviews look so good so we went today again and OMG, the lamb and the big plate chicken, they are so delicious! No wonder they were sold out! Very nice restaurant, clean, friendly, lots of local folks eat there too. We will go again soon!
