We absolutely love the food and service at Utamaro! Every dish we’ve tried has been consistently fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented truly never a disappointment. The sushi is especially impressive, with high-quality fish that melts in your mouth and rice seasoned just right. The appetizers and hot dishes are equally delicious, always prepared with care and great attention to detail.
On top of the amazing food, the service is warm and attentive, and the restaurant itself is clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Highly recommended!

The food and service were amazing! Dropped my car off at Rock’n Rods and rides and decided to grab some quick lunch! The fish was fresh! The salmon sashimi was amazing along with the baby sumo roll! Will be returning to try more!

Clean & neat. Comfortable chairs and nice atmosphere. We had cold sake & peace river roll. Very good sushi. Professional & attentive service. Seemed to be doing a steady lunch business mid day on a Wednesday. Reasonable lunch specials advertised. Recommended!

Awesome! Food was great…our group had sushi, Ramen, and fried rice, and everything was excellent. The service was the best we have had in a while. Our glasses were continuously filled, server was friendly, and we were well taken care of. Family friendly vibes. We would go back in a heart beat!

Absolutely so stinking yummy!! The sushi is incredible! We got the Sarasota roll, mango tango roll and the captain cool roll! It was beyond amazing!! Food came so fast! The service was amazing!! They are so very kind!! My 1.5 yr old son loved their chicken fried rice too!! Overall 100000/10 experience!!

Had an absolutely incredible experience at Utamaro. I ordered the Baby Sumo Roll, the Gen Z roll and the Ultimate roll.
Came here for lunch at about 12pm on a Monday. The service was incredibly fast. The restaurant was super quiet and the food quality was amazing. This is high quality sushi!
The service was excellent. Incredibly kind and attentive staff that are really working to put a smile on your face. They were super accommodating to my slight alteration requests to the rolls (I have a severe avocado allergy as well as a couple others).
Music was a good volume and a great selection. Didn’t feel distracting or annoying like some music at restaurants can feel.
This is definitely some of the best sushi I’ve had in the Punta Gorda – better than some I’ve had in Venice. Probably some of the best I’ve tried in this whole southwest Florida area.

Hands down, the best sushi in the area and close to the best I’ve had. The jalapeno appetizer is amazingly great! We thoroughly enjoy the variety of roles and the quick service!

I used to frequent this place quite often… we even used to purchase their carrot ginger dressing to take home! It really is that good! However, after our last experience there, we will never return. We ordered one of their lobster specials and it came out, looked beautiful but was completely inedible because the meat was so overcooked. We spoke to our waiter and he apologized, asked if we wanted something else and then the owner came over and prettymuch just yelled at us and told us that we were wrong. The waiter had to get infront of the owner because he was about to assault us… so we left. Becareful, you might get some Kung fu with your sushi.
