First of all, the service was good. The server was friendly and explained the menu well.
We ordered paneer tikka masala and the butter chicken Amritsari kulcha. The butter chicken Amritsari kulcha was amazing—very flavorful and it paired perfectly with the butter curry. Even though the sweet and sour sauce was not my cup of tea, the dish itself was still excellent.
On the other hand, the paneer tikka masala was my least favorite paneer tikka masala in town. It was too spicy, yet somehow lacked depth of spice and overall flavor. It would be better if the spice level could be adjusted.
The lassi was good with a hint of rose. The masala chai was spicy and decent.
I would revisit for the Amritsari kulcha, but probably not for the other menu items.

Went following a friend’s recommendation, and I was very impressed with their food and sitting arrangement. Located in Fort Street in Downtown Victoria, this is an authentic North Indian Restaurant.
Recommended:
1. Butter Chicken (boneless): Authentic Indian Butter Chicken, boneless pieces are big and the meat is not smashed or purchased cube meat, thus the flavour was perfect. Ample gravy to have with naan or paratha.
2. Creamy Chicken (boneless): Chicken cooked in cream and some spices, exhibiting a subtle chutney or mint flavor. Goes well with naan.
3. Lachcha Paratha: Compliments gravy dishes perfectly.
4. Butter Naan: Soft naan with a hint of buttery Flavor, compliments curry dishes.
5. Veg Combo Thali: Perfect for vegetarians.
Interior is well lit, decorated nicely, and has a lot of UstaadG’s pictures with famous international celebrities. The place has staff that are well trained and they came checking on us if we needed anything. They were prompt to take orders and provide good description of dishes.
Prices of gravy dishes and thalis are reasonable, while I find the prices of naan and paratha to be a bit more compared to other places that offer the same quality.
Overall, we liked the place, and definitely added to our places to go eat on repeat!

My experience at Ustad Ji Victoria was very disappointing. I ordered fried fish, but it tasted stale and seemed cooked in very old oil. The oil looked dirty and smelled unpleasant, which completely ruined the meal. Honestly, it didn’t feel fit to eat.
They are promoting buy-one-get-one-free deals, but instead of focusing on BOGO offers, they really need to focus on improving their food quality and freshness. I wouldn’t recommend this place based on my experience.

What an amazing experience went there yesterday on the occasion of my birthday with my friends and jaslin warmly welcomed us with smile and suggested many food dishes and it turned out very tasty. Not only this they also celebrated my birthday and gave a wonderful cake i would like to appreciate jaslin and karan for this, their lovely gesture made my day . I will definitely recommend this place to others.

Honestly, such a good experience at Ustaad Ji. The food was fresh, full of flavor, and came out nice and hot. You can tell they really care about what they’re serving. Everything I ordered tasted amazing proper authentic vibes.

I recently tried Ustaad G76 Victoria and was truly impressed! I took a parcel and ordered Veg Pulao along with Onion Kulcha – the taste was just next level, absolutely delicious and flavorful. Even though they don’t serve halal, their vegetarian options are outstanding and definitely worth trying.
The ambiance of the restaurant is very welcoming, and the staff is gentle, supportive and kind – they really make you feel comfortable. Their packaging for parcel orders is also very well done, showing the perfection of the restaurant and how much they care about their customers.
I also heard from friends that their non-veg dishes are equally amazing (a must-try for those who don’t require halal).
Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic taste, great service and a pleasant atmosphere!

Ordered delhi style paneer Chole bhature which was not even close to being Delhi style and neither was Kadhai paneer. Kadhai paneer is all oil and no taste like Kadhai Paneer, will unfortunately not be ordering from here ever. I always order with Namaste India or Shashwat Indian cuisine, they are amazing and I hoped this was too but I had to face disappointment. Too bad.
