We loved this Thai restaurant and their efforts to create an amazing place for vegetarian and vegan food lovers. Their ‘meat’ dishes are soy based and really well made and tasty. We tried their Orange chicken which used their soy chicken which is really amazing. The other dishes we tried were their green curry and veggie puffs, both awesome.

They have soy meats and seitan and of course tofu for proteins.

I first thought they were a small seating place but then realized they have a pretty sizeable section at the back as well.

Highly recommend this place to vegans and others as well.

I spent $75 dollars here, and out of everything that I order, we only wate the orange chicken. That’s it. Everything else did not really have much flavor. It did not taste like traditional Thai food, and I absolutely love authentic Thai, even made vegan, and this was horrible. Especially traveling from out of state and choosing this as out location to support.

Urban Vegan Thai Cuisine is a phenomenal vegan establishment. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and greet you with a smile. The Thai good is exquisite, fresh ingredients of excellent quality with a variety of plant base proteins to choose from. The portion sizes are decent and filling. Visited this restaurant twice now, and it has been an excellent experience overall each time. This is a highly recommended restaurant to try for vegetarian and vegan communities or any person wanting to try something different. Multiple visits now, and each experience has been wonderful.

GREATEST THAI VEGAN food I have ever had! Love LOVE love the jungle noodles! Yum! Also tried few different things there. This time it was orange soy chicken with brown rice. So yummy! My friend got rice shell pasta curry, it was spicy for me but if you eat spice regularly you will be fine, it isn’t bad at all. Absolutely worth a TRY! Absolutely recommend this for all Vegans and fellow Vegetarians!!!

My wife tries to avoid meat whenever she can. She recommended this place that I’ve tried to not look at the past 352763273672 times I’ve driven passed it. I reluctantly agreed, assuming in my head I was going to be disappointed. I WAS WRONG. SO WRONG. The service was prompt and pleasant. The windows made the restaurant really bright, but still a cozy dining experience. I had the Thai Basil with soy Chicken protein (and fries because…. Well… they looked and smelled delicious). My wife got one of the curry plates with soy chicken as well. It was delicious. It’s sparked a curiosity in me. DEFINITELY coming back and recommend everyone looking into this place to come down and give it a shot.

I have passed urban vegan many times when I have been driving around. Have to say this small local restraunt is a hidden gem! Let me get into it!

The food here is beyond amazing. I order the freshy roll and they were very fresh and every bite made me want more. The orange chicken is the best orange chicken I have ever had any where. If I could have this dish every day I would. The pad Thai reminded me of when I had it while I was vacationing in Thailand! The service was all star level. The waitress that served me walked me around the menu and filled my water when she saw it was low. Hard to find places where waitresses are that attentive. The atmosphere or ambiance like I like to call it, perfect. The natural light from the outside and the decor and music that placed really was pleasant.

Overall, I will say give urban vegan a try. The experience will want to keep you coming back as the food and service speak for themself!

Everything was amazing. The soy chicken was on point. The orange chicken regained its crispy texture despite the sauce and the portions were very large. Large enough that we filled up a take out box and it didn’t look like we’d had a single bite of it. A lot of food for the price. Nice servers. Quick service and tasty food. Drinks at a cheaper price than most Chicago restaurants too. 10:10

I really enjoyed the food and ambience in this restaurant! The vibes inside are chill— it’s spacious and nicely decorated, good for groups both large and small. Service is quick and the staff are very friendly.

The lunch and dinner combos are the same portion size, but dinner is $1 more. The portions are large, and the variety of spring rolls, salad, entree, and rice makes it worth it. I got the Praram’s Plate Combo with Soy Chicken. The soy chicken was good, but I think I generally prefer the texture of soy beef more. Still, it was very tender with a meat-like texture, and the peanut sauce was creamy and flavorful (the highlight of the dish, for sure). The spinach added fresh flavor and color. The purple rice was a little hard, but tasted good. The egg rolls were crispy and piping hot.

The prices are not low, but they’re pretty standard compared to similar vegan Thai restaurants in Chicago. The menu is also pretty similar to some of the other nearby vegan Thai restaurants, but the options are nonetheless diverse and expansive, and I’m looking forward to trying more items on the menu with different protein types too!

Not only some of the best vegan food I’ve had in the city, but the best Thai food in general. Robust flavors, cozy atmosphere, both healthy and comfort options, affordable, friendly, a good experience every time.
Special mention to the chicken satay, green curry, and orange chicken.
