A wonderful dining experience with live entertainment bonus! Intimate and classy atmosphere. Kung Pao cauliflower was a show stopper for me. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. The menu is not overwhelming and accomodates all palates. Cocktails were well done. Dessert did not dissapoint! Wait staff was attentive and friendly. Will definitely return.

Service , atmosphere and a quality time. We came for the band.
Sticky Duck Wings looked too good to pass up and did not disappoint .
Catfish
Shrimp and Grits
Cheeseburgers for our teens
Mocktail Mojito was fun
Our waiter, Mason, was very kind, patient and efficient. We were looked after very well.
As mentioned in other reviews, parking is what it is.
We had a 5:30 reservation and found street parking fairly easy.

My second time visiting this place! And the second time was much better than the first I purposely did not leave a review the first time I went because I do understand some people have their days.

Just recently visited again, and the service was spectacular. The live music was such a joy to listen to, and it wasn’t terribly loud. We could still enjoy our food and conversation without yelling at each other! The food was absolutely wonderful! I have been watching what I eat so I ordered a “ healthy option” and was very hesitant to order it because I assumed it wouldnt fulfill me as another option would. I ordered the salmon and mushrooms with quinoa and I would order that 30 times over again. It was absolutely amazing! Definitely bringing my fiancé here so we can enjoy date night !

I ordered what is pictured, the salmon with one glass of wine and my bill was $63

First time trying shrimp & grits and I LOVED IT!!! Couldn’t recommend this place more to anyone visiting KC like me. Service was amazing, food was fantastic, and they played relaxing jazz music to complete the vibe.

This was my first time here – it was cool. I had Creme Brûlée French Toast, eggs scrambled with cheese & turkey sausage. The food was good – the french toast could’ve used more of the vanilla cream. The fruit was indeed fresh & the vibes of the place were cool as well. I enjoyed the music and the service.

Urban did a great job creating a wonderful atmosphere to have a nice relaxed meal for either entertaining someone or to listen to some nice Jazz. The service was not all that great, missed our server for most of our meal and they missed an item we ordered after repeating it back to us. The food was ok for me. The sticky duck appetizer stole the show for best food eaten at the end of it all, would order again! The pork chop while seasoned well, seemed too well done for me and the green beans were not quite done enough but both were edible. The seafood bowl I am told was really good so kudos there and the sweet potato bread pudding…very nice twist on bread pudding, excellent with the cream drizzle and ice cream compliment.

OMGosh, so happy we found out about this place! The vibes were vibing. And great service. The shrimp and grits were delicious — a tad salty but still good! I also had the lobster grill cheese w/the tomato basil soup. Chef’s kiss! Will be back!

I took my daughter and grandmother here for a birthday dinner, and they both really enjoyed it—especially the desserts! That’s a big win in my book. Thank you for the great food and wonderful hospitality.

Visited for Sunday brunch as a first-time customer. We were seated right away since it wasn’t busy, but that was the only positive part of the experience. It took a long time for our server to even acknowledge us, and when she did, she was rushed, unfriendly, and showed no real sense of hospitality. We weren’t asked about drinks and there was no effort to make us feel welcome.
After placing our order, it took nearly an hour for the food to come out, and it looked like it had been sitting before being brought to the table. The food was just okay, definitely not worth the price considering the wait and poor service.
This business needs serious improvement in customer service, staff training, and overall organization. People choose where they spend their money, and good intentions alone don’t keep customers coming back quality service does. Many customers make a point to support Black-owned businesses, but that support still depends on professionalism, consistency, and a good experience. Right now, that standard is not being met. Unfortunately it’ll be a hard pass! and would not recommend.
