I took my husband here for his birthday. He said it was the best birthday he’s had in years! I had a lot of fun too. There’s more than just axe throwing, there’s games like giant jenga, cornhole, pool. They even have an escape room that we are going to try next time with the family. Of all the places we have gone I haven’t seen my husband smile as much as he did at this place. There’s great prices on beer and a good selection but we didn’t drink and still had a blast! The staff was super helpful and made me feel welcome and confident even as a beginner. Holly was awesome and kept surprising us with new things to throw. We got to throw ninja stars, a bigger ninja star, a hatchet, an axe, a saw blade, and throwing cards. The man at the front desk told us they had plenty of other things for throwing but we had to get going. We are definitely visiting again and will probably end up as regulars.

So, full disclosure, I’ve never thrown axes or ordered a drink at Urban Axe Yard. But, this is a great place to play pinball! First of all, the staff is super friendly. I come here about once a month to play the pins, sometimes even less than that, and yeah I have an unusual name (maybe it makes it easier to remember) but to be greeted by name when I walk in is just way cool. For real, everyone who works here is very chill and nice.
Most importantly, the pinball games here are maintained in EXCELLENT condition. They work exactly as they should in every way, which makes it very fun to play pinball at Urban Axe Yard. And during the time I’ve been playing pinball here they’ve made constant improvements like adding a TV for the Stern Insider Connected leaderboard, adding new games (just got King Kong: Myth of Terror Island recently), adding a change machine, and now have built out a whole separate game room for the pins and pool tables.
At this time they’ve got 10 pinball games including Foo Fighters, Metallica Remastered, Pulp Fiction and others. You can see the exact current lineup on the Pinball Map app. As a pinball fanatic who lives in Tucson, all the best spots to play that have a cool vibe – games in good condition – a good lineup of titles – require a drive like Atomic Age Modern in Mesa, Electric Bat Arcade in Tempe and Catalina Brewing Company in Marana. Urban Axe Yard in Sierra Vista is among the best places to play pinball in the area. It’s worth the drive from Tucson!

fun and unique date night spot! Urban Axe Yard totally exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was lively but still relaxed, making it easy to have fun without feeling overwhelmed. The staff was amazing — super friendly, helpful, and great at explaining the basics so we felt comfortable right away (even as first-timers!).
Our coach Bruce made it easy to learn, and it quickly turned into some friendly competition. It’s the perfect mix of something active, a little different, and genuinely memorable. We were laughing the entire time.

They dont really serve food so I have no score on that. They do offer 2 escape room and 2 different puzzles. The price is a little steep but for your birthday they comp your admission so that’s fun. They are very fun rooms and its a fun little place that hosts a plethora of events, from axe throwing to trivia to singles nights and even karaoke! For a small town it adds a nice little get away

The manager was super nice and answered all my questions. The atmosphere is pretty cool. The thing that I liked the most was that I saw the manager correcting some kids that were being unsafe. He did it in a way that didn’t make the kids ashamed but understood that it was important.
