Upward Brewing Company is a family favorite, and very popular with the locals.
The layout is simple chairs and benches with long tables. There is seating at the bar, a few high two person tables, and it’s common to find folks gathered around the firepit out front. During winter months there is seating around the fireplace.
In addition to house brews on tap, package goods are available for take out as well as branded merchandise available for purchase.
The limited menu contains staples like chicken strips, wings, fries, salad, fried pickles, etc. and includes many items that you should try at least once….pulled pork sandwich, fish tacos, dumplings, and falafel.
With a party nine, we had a nice selection of menu choices, with lots of sharing and sampling.
Not one single criticism or complaint about the many dishes on our table.
The portion sizes were perfect and fairly priced. Everything was served hot and fresh.
There is no table service. You order and pay at the kitchen window, and then you’re given a disc that flashes when your order is ready.
(No worrying about splitting the check, everyone pays when they place their order.)
Our last visit was on a Friday night, and it was fairly crowded, but seating was immediately available, and after placing our orders no one waited more than 10 minutes for their food.
The parking is a gravel parking area and there are no lines, but there are three designated handicap parking spaces.

Well, this place is more than just a brewery. It is a destination in itself. I recommend coming an hour before they open and then hiking up the nearby beer mountain, which is part of their property. it is a pretty easy hike and you’ll reach the summit within 20 to 30 minutes, and the view from Top is pretty nice. By the time you climb down, you’ll develop an appetite and will be able to enjoy the beer and the food to the fullest. Well, we didn’t really try any food here, so I can’t comment on the food because we had lunch elsewhere, but I can tell you about the beer. I am not much of a beer drinker, so I was looking for some sort of sour beer, but they did not have any, so I went with the cider, which was really really good. my friends, who are much more enthusiastic, be connoisseurs, really like their IPA. But I think more than the beer, what makes this brewery Wonderful is the ambience. The main brewery itself is huge and very well decorated with a lot of natural light, but favourite areas are the outdoors which overlook the hills and during fall, it is such a spectacle to see the changing colours. They also have a bunch of games that you can play. We sat by the Fire side, and that was extremely nice. To be honest, I liked the beer at cat skill brewery a couple minutes away better but this wins hands down for the overall experience.

We stopped here for a brew, and I wanted to stay for a few more. Next time we’ll hike Bear Mountain, but we had already been hiking and chasing covered bridges in the area, and the atmosphere was great here. Incredible brews. Even an accidental spill of a freshly pulled pint was replaced free of charge. Will def be back. Very scenic and chill. Young dudes were hanging out by the pond with pints, enjoying the day.

Super beautiful place with excellent (mostly German style) beer. Big outdoor space to enjoy with the family and doggies. Inside the space is very beautiful and cozy in the winter. Staff are super nice and if you feel like it you can hike the back of the property for a nice view.

Such a visually stunning space. The architecture and design of the interior is gorgeous. The guy pouring the beer is super friendly. They allowed me to order with my dog on a leash because I was alone. I sat outside on their patio and enjoyed a bratwurst and a beer. The place is gorgeous the views are stunning there’s plenty of places to sit right up close to the building as well as pavilions out in the grounds. There’s also some sort of hike that you can do that leaves from the brewery but I was more interested in the beer than the hiking.

Love everything here.
So far, parking has been easy. The space is awesome inside and out. Everything we’ve ordered here has been delicious. The restroom is clean. The people who work here seem very nice and helpful. We will be back. Oh, our beer drinking individual enjoyed all the beer he got.

Beautiful brewery with friendly and welcoming staff. The property is gorgeous. Unfortunately we did not get to do the hike because of the weather, but we’ll definitely be returning next time we’re in the area. We had dinner plans elsewhere, but the food also looked amazing.

Prior to lunch our family enjoyed a hike up to the summit of Beer Mountain located on their expansive property. Then went to the brewery to celebrate. Popular spot with plenty of space both indoors and especially outside. Pet friendly as many patrons bring their dogs. Self service so you must order/pick up food from one counter and drinks /bar snacks from the bar area.

absolutely stunning space with lots of seating inside & outdoors. the beer is really good- I got the lager and it was super light and tasty. The food was also incredible! We got the bavarian pretzel from the bar— it was literally the best pretzel i’ve ever had with this BOMB honey mustard. From the restaurant part of the brewery, we got the bbq pork taco, chicken tenders, and the burger. Everything was stellar and cooked perfectly. The taco needed a little bit of sauce or seasoning, but it was super juicy & a huge portion for one taco.
Highly recommend if you want to have a beer & dinner! Also great spot for kids.
