Saggios is a great family spot with amazing Italian food. The Shrimp Diablo is full of flavor with adjustable spice, and the sauce is perfect for dipping crusty bread. With delicious pizza, fair prices, and a welcoming atmosphere, it’s a favorite for all ages.

Super yummy . Perfectly crisp crust. A nice, fun family atmosphere. A great place to grab a munch if you are hungry! Highly recommended!

Pretty decent, but the location near UNM is better. Our Mediterranean pizza was okay, but they don’t have the red chile crust at the Uptown location. Our other pizza was also fine, except that an entire slice was missing the cheese and toppings. I think the location near UNM also has more personality. Maybe this location is for people who are a little more… bland? Still, it wasn’t awful, just not as good as the other location.

I have only been to the one by the university a few times but this location is SO MUCH BETTER! Every time we went we would have to wait for tables. Today we came in and there were plenty of tables available for us. Staff were friendly and it was pretty relaxed and quiet and not overly loud. It has such a nice vibe there. Also the food was delicious. I didn’t remember to take pictures before eating but it was so beautiful as well. I would definitely recommend coming here. Make sure to save room for some dessert!!!

Based 95% on the pizza (Gourmet Margherita Pizza), I give this 2/5 stars; very disappointing.
Let me explain myself: I like SIMPLE but HIGH QUALITY pizza. Proper margherita pizza is about the simplest pizza you can make, and it is the basic standard. It’s not a fancy pie, but the basic 3 ingredients (bread, sauce, cheese + basil) need to be on point. This was not it – not even by miles. This was greasy, no red sauce, crappy crust, uninspired garbage. Wife and I ate half of it.
For comparison, good pizza in or near ABQ is: Scarpas, Farina (downtown), Goodfellas (Los Lunas), Amore. For more pedestrian, Americanized pizza, Dion’s is the standard. Saggios just sucked in comparison.
I used to eat at Saggios by UNM as a college student, before I knew what good pizza could be. In my memory, that pizza was pretty decent. Maybe my mistake here was ordering a gourmet pizza. I seem to be forming the experience that says: if a pizza place offers “regular pizza” AND “gourmet pizza,” steer clear of the gourmet (Dion’s is an example… their gourmet pizza sucks, their regular pizza is passable).
30 bucks for a passable caesar salad (was fine) and this extremely disappointing “margherita pizza” is a travesty.
I almost exclusively write positive reviews, but I was really disappointed in this pizza. Serious let down.
Everything else about the restaurant was fine: service was fine, workers were professional and courteous. The pizza sucked. But I’m here for the pizza… so I assign the most weight to that aspect of the experience. Hate to be negative here, but I’m disappointed.

I have been eating Saggios food for decades at their location off of Central and the food used to be delicious. It has only gone down hill at that location, but I decided to give this location a shot and I’m pleased to say that the food was delicious just like the old location used to be. My wife and I both enjoyed our food and we shared some of it with our 10 month old son who seemed to really love it. The food isn’t cheap, but you get what you pay for which is good quality food. The service was great and the atmosphere is pretty good too. I do miss the atmosphere of the old location as I consider it classic and nostalgic, but I like this location too since it is much closer to my house. I plan on coming back here again and if the food is just as good I will be updating my review to 5 stars. I do recommend eating here.

If I spend this much on dinner it should be right. Got appetizers and pizza. Got a pice that had nothing on it. When I said something they looked at me like I was dumb. If it wasn’t for the girl who took the order it would all be a waste. Back to dions it is. I’d add the photo of the pizza but it won’t let me. And we had a giant pizza, a gourmet, bruschetta

Bruschetta the highlight. The pizza was good. We had pepperoni, Canadian Bacon, and green chile. The beer could have been colder but ok. I was a little disappointed that I was only allowed 3 drinks.

Saggio’s is one of my favorite places for a quick and inexpensive Italian meal. Today, I had the meat lasagna with a ceasar salad on the side. The food was good as usual, and this place has a pretty laid-back feel to it. Except for the chair maintenance dude that is pounding on the chairs nearby as I’m eating. That is pretty annoying, and I feel this type of work should have been done during non-business hours. Nevertheless, it was a good dining experience. I’m sure the chair thing is quite rare…
