Can’t say enough good about this place. So unassuming from the street and so totally awesome inside. The Food and Service go hand-in-hand at 5 Star. The Atmosphere is 5 Star in the low key market but 4 Star if you are looking for White Linen and waiters.I was there for lunch and a to go one at that. I believe their Dinner may have a different feel to it. They have a Very nice Curated Wine and Beer list
I’ve been there twice,the first time they were closing to get ready for dinner yet the waitress that greeted us went out of her way to give us a menu,take our order and made sure we had everything needed to enjoy our meals as we traveled.
The food is Very Fresh with Vegan and Gluten Free (I am neither) options.

We had lunch here and ordered the Signature Bowl and Caesar salad. I enjoyed my bowl with sashimi ahi tuna, it is fresh with a lot of vegetables and it goes well with the wasabi ginger sauce. It is very similar to a poke bowl. The portion of food is big and satisfying. We’ll definitely like to come back here again for lunch and try more items from their menu! The price during lunch is reasonable.

I think uptown has the absolute best lunch in butte. Their food tastes great and feels healthy. Their lemon chicken soup is delicious, their croissants are super buttery, and the avocado toast is incredible. When I get delivery they always show up quickly with my food still warm and the delivery fee is extremely reasonable. Love the Uptown cafe.

On a Friday night we were seated, we were not served our food for about 90 minutes. It was not a busy night, about half the tables were filled, yet it took that long before our meals were served to us. I assume they were under-staffed in the kitchen, but that was not acceptable and reflected poor service. The food was good, and it is a cute place.

We have searched for over a year for a restaurant in Montana that serves Beef Wellington and were thrilled to find it on The Uptown Cafe’s new dinner menu! Chef Angie knocked it out of the park tonight! Our meal was excellent- appetizer to entree – everything was on point. She was so gracious when we personally thanked her afterwards. We can’t recommend dining here enough! Our server needed a little more time under his belt, but we went for the food & we weren’t disappointed in the least! There were so many more dishes as we looked at what others around us had chosen that looked just as delectable, we can’t wait to go back.

Run, don’t walk, to come to the Uptown Cafe for your next meal. It’s SO good. Best lunch I’ve had in a long time — and they serve a spectacular dinner on Friday’s and Saturday’s too.
Service was so nice and fast!! They do dine-in, takeout, and deliveries for lunch. I had their Uptown Bowl and decided to be adventurous and try their tofu even though I’m not a vegetarian. It was SO GOOD. Especially with their creamy teriyaki dressing. The wasabi ginger dressing is also amazing.
Atmosphere is really good too with light music, beautiful windows and a really open space vibe. And all of their food is super affordable especially with how well-made and fresh it all is.

What a gem! Great set meal options, solid but not overdone menu and good wine selection for rural Montana. Everyone was very friendly and the place was well kept. If you looking to have a nice dinner in or around Butte consider Uptown a solid option.

Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. The beef wellington was amazing and the duck with huckleberry sauce. The artichokes with crab meat delicious but from the appetizers the favorite was the clams maison.

I consider Uptown Cafe one of Butte’s saving graces. Consistently consistent. Sometimes I am not sure if I appreciate UC because I have been going there for two decades or if it is for the food. No doubt, the atmosphere and home town personal service are at the top of my list for reasons I return again and again. The location is in historical downtown. Their wine list, while limited, hits all the necessities for a small town restaurant and I appreciate knowing, when I walk in the door, what to expect. The food quality can vary but is usually pretty good. Occasionally they will miss the boat on something simple. They usually do a good job on their fish and steak dishes and are quick to fix anything if I am not satisfied. Their attitudes are always “Montana friendly and respectful.” A walk downtown after dinner makes visiting Butte all the more wonderful after a relaxing dinner at Uptown Cafe. See ya’ there.
