The place is very appealing, the kitchen in full site, the walls, the atmosphere, all beautiful. The seats along the wall (I believe they come from an old church choir) are a bit uncomfortable but absolutely ok Service is good and both the hostess and the server were really nice. The reason for the three stars (and it took me a while to decide) is because there was a huge discrepancy among the various courses. We had four appetizers – octopus, beet salad, polenta, tiradito – they were excellent, one better than the other. Then we ordered rigatoni al ragù and there came the big deception also because it came after appetizers I would have given 5+ stars. First of all the rigatoni were on the small size but ok, the ragù is usually made with ground meat (beef and pork) but this was more like rump steak (translation of Italian lacerto), stringy meat and could not taste any tomato or the Barolo that was in the description, least of all, actually none, was the sage gremolata, on top of all the preparation was in too much liquid. Then we ordered the steak and it was absolutely average, but the side of carrots was savory and delicious. This plate could have taken advantage of a better presentation (too much of the plate was a white slate). Dessert was a very good, large, bread pudding. Absolutely fantastic and well curated the wine list.

3 stars doesn’t mean its bad, just not as good as what its hyped to be. The dishes were good but not amazing. Atmosphere and service were very good, but the seats inside were quite uncomfortable and tables were cramped. One experience here was sufficient. Been there done that type of place.

Love this place. Food is authentic, service is beyond expectations and the ambiance is as if you are eating somewhere in Europe.
Love the rooftop seating. If you can’t do stairs, there is a small area by the host stand which is also outside the main dining room.
It is a small restaurant and seems like they are always obligated per tables so reservations are recommended.
Definitely coming back.

The seating given to us was horrendous. There was a highly used cabinet drawer right behind my date’s head that every time someone order a cocktail, or glassware was being put away in the restaurant, a waitress had to come to our table, reach over her head, open it slightly to not hit her. It appears to be a mechanism that transports drinks up and down from the bar upstairs hidden conspicuously on the wall. We Literally sat inches from that trafficked area. This happened for our entire dinner. I could hear the toilets flushing and stench coming from the restroom as I ate. It was disgusting. It is cramped inside to where I got bumped into a couple of times by patrons going to the restroom. There was no room to change tables. Not a good experience at all. A helpful tip, remove the table that is placed by the bar cabinet and restroom entrance. Horrible placement.

My husband and I came here for a date night. We didn’t think to make a reservation since it was a Wednesday evening, but luckily, the hostess was able to accommodate us at a small outdoor table, which we happily accepted.
The menu is simple and seasonal, as our waitress explained, and everything we tried was fantastic. I ordered a seafood crab pasta that was absolutely phenomenal, while my husband chose a meat-based pasta that was equally amazing. I also enjoyed a refreshing mocktail, similar to a lemonade, though they offer alcoholic versions as well if you prefer.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience, but I’d definitely recommend calling ahead to make a reservation.

Uno Tre Otto unfolds like a hidden gem—its rustic exterior and vine‑clad façade pierced with ambient string lighting invite you into a serene, inviting culinary retreat. Inside, the ambiance evokes an old Italian wine cellar: dimly lit, cocooned in wood beams, with a rustic, intimate charm and an open kitchen that invites you into the heart of the dinner crafting process. The restaurant centers itself around a truly farm‑to‑table Italian ethos: daily‑harvested produce from their family‑owned Amy’s Farm, organic semolina‑based pasta made in‑house, and sustainably sourced meats and seafood. The result is a menu that feels rooted in tradition, yet refreshingly vibrant and expressive.

Small portions for the price. Fabulous food and service. Beautiful roof top for summer. Don’t go in the spring or winter as they only have 3 heating devices. Tonight they only had 2 working heating devices. I am sure they will get more soon.

We have been trying every restaurant in Claremont since moving here and it’s become evident that every one is over-rated by 1-2 stars on google. Uni Tre Otto is no exception. The atmosphere is great inside but the food is mediocre. We had the crudo and it was beyond rustic to the point of poorly prepared. There was so much connective tissue it was tough to deal with + flavorless. The flavoring consisted of a few slices of Serrano peppers and cilantro leaves placed on top. The bolognese was more of a soup with very little meat. The pork was fine but again pretty flavorless. Interesting wine selection if you are into Italian especially Barolos. Also beware of the sneaky “credit card processing fee” they tack on to the bill. Who expects anyone to pay cash these days?

The food presentation, quality and tastes here were impeccable.

We had reservations which I recommend if wanting indoor seating as it is a snug but a warm and comfortable space.

The menu is limited in as much there are three Primi and three Secondi to choose from with a handful of Antipasti and two desserts. The dishes are skillfully prepared. The textures, flavors and taste are layered yet sophisticated. You will be able to taste your dish without it being overtaken by any of the flavors added.

Ordered: Roasted Beet Salad —Tagliatelle All.a Vongole —
Milanese —pork tenderloin, — Poached Wild Icelandic Cod and both dessert: Brioche Bread Pudding and Butterscotch Budino.

The drinks are also more custom here than I’ve experience elsewhere again bursting with flavors: if you like Mezcal—Firing Squad, No.2 is a must!!!

Highly recommended but, I would say for special occasions. It’s pricey but well worth the experience.

I recently visited Uno Tre Otto with my girlfriend and had a fantastic experience. We started off with the Roasted Beets and Crudo, which were both beautifully presented and tasted incredibly fresh. The Tagliatelle, a pasta dish with clams, was also delicious. The Seasonal Fish and Bistecca were standout dishes, both cooked to perfection and with unique and flavorful tastes. The service was good, although it did take a while to receive our cocktails, but they were worth the wait. To finish off the meal, the Bread Pudding was a delightful dessert. Overall, the prices at Uno Tre Otto were reasonable for the high-quality food and drinks we received. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
