I got food here earlier after seeing a Facebook post. I got a few things to try: Pork Curry omg so good, and spicy but the perfect amount of spicy! Potato Masala, which was so light and fresh, and mixed with the rice and eaten with Naan it was perfect! And one Vada, which is like a savory donut and I think that was my favorite! It had so much flavor and soft, yet dense. Oh, and the gentleman is so kind and patient. I had no idea what I was ordering and he was very patient with me haha! I will definitely be back to try everything else haha!

Stopped by for the first time, and man, was the food good. I had some tasty potato masala curry with partita, and then a cars. I’m happy to see some South Indian cuisine. It’s the best!

Delicious Indian food (south) served by an authentic chef. The pander was perfect. First time trying Parrotta bread – loved it! Butter masala with real dairy. Will go back as often as I can.

A cute little cafe with delicious home style indian food. Super nice service from Unni. Love the spot and the food. I could drive all the way from Seattle to have lunch here if I get time.

Wow. Authentic and delicious *Southern* Indian food in Anacortes!! The food from the south is quite different from the food from the north, and my favorite Indian dishes are all from the south. I am a bit haunted by the medium hot chicken curry here, truth be told (fantastic flavor, although I didn’t taste much heat in it). Tried to get it again yesterday but he had closed early because he ran out of food… didn’t surprise me, given how good everything was. The owner is an interesting person, we really enjoyed talking to him. We will be back next time we’re here. Highly recommend!

Unni is very nice, gives good conversation, is a good cook, the food had nice flavor and well made but disappointing portion size for price and it took almost an hour to get ready, even though we were told on the phone we don’t need to call in our order (as it’d be quick). Told upon entering it’d be 15 minutes before he’d start ours, but a whole 45 minutes went by past that before I left.

The pricing is almost double what it should be, and what we see elsewhere. $15 for a little snack-sized pot of curry that doesn’t come with any rice. $5-6 per flatbread as shown.

We ended up spending $43 without tip, without drink, for 2 average-appetite people and we are both hungry afterwards. Oh and we had to make our own rice at home…to be full we’d have to spend $30 – $35 per person.

Also the gluten free flatbread wasn’t marked so we didn’t know which my wife could eat.

Also warning! “Mild” on the spice is actually more like spicy /medium. Overall quite disappointed and wishing we would have not bothered. But, alas, now we know.

Do not sleep on this tiny place. I’ve never had food from this region of India, but every bite had me tasting a new flavor I’ve never had. Incredibly unique, incredibly flavorful but nothing is too overpowering. Never having been there I was able to sample the dishes before making my decision which is unheard of from anything other than an ice cream shop. There is a lot of love, care and pride in his food and I will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

Enjoyed my first idli and a savory donut with a mildly spiced veggie curry Very friendly and fast sevice service. If going to ferry terminal, well worth budgeting a little more time for picking up some takeout.

UNNI’s Kitchen behind Frank’s at Midway & HWY 20. I’m so glad I finally made it to this awesome new restaurant. The best take out I have gotten in a long long time, in any city! I was driving through Oak Harbor midday but really wanted something fun to dinner to bring back to the south end, so I brought a cooler with ice packs and Unni gave me instructions for heating them up later (don’t microwave the curd & rice!).

The flavors are so mild and delicately balanced. There were a lot of vegan options, but I got the curd & rice (cooling flavors in yogurt and rice with pickle sides), delicious beef, a special vegetable stew called Sambar, and a cool Indian rice high in vitamins. It’s Southern Indian food, which is lighter and very different than the Northern Indian food at most other Indian restaurants in the US. You can mix and match small containers like this to create a healthy and easy quick to go option for the whole island. I also got a delicious unsweetened chai, but I can’t wait to go back so I can try the special Indian coffee!!
