A bit out of the way no thrills restaurant at decent prices. We stop a few times a year, recommend going early as we have been caught in long waits. Service is good and friendly, full bar as well. We enjoy the salmon, they do a great job preparing and serving. This visit also enjoyed shrimp appetizer and strawberry shortcake dessert, all good. I like to visit the restroom to wash up and I found theirs to be one of the cleanest restrooms I’ve seen!

This is definitely a bit of a hidden gem if you’re not from around the area, but it’s a wonderful little old fashioned kind of steakhouse. They have wonderful American fare, and especially good steaks and lobster tails. The shrimp is good too.

We called on Saturday right after they opened and asked for a reservation as we are a large family. We were told to come in at 6. We showed up about 5 minutes early only to be told, “No. They don’t take reservations on the weekends”. Well, that’s not what we were told when we called. We ended up waiting almost an hour for a table. Once we were seated we were informed that the prices on their online menu were no longer accurate. Okay… So we ordered and I must say, we weren’t impressed. The of is got the prime rib which was a thin cut although we ordered the King cut. Another got the grilled chicken breast and it was dry and almost inedible. She ate less than half of it. We spent $175 and left hungry. We won’t be back.

I hadn’t been to Unkies for about 4 years. The food and service was wonderful! The appetizer platter was very hot and loaded with all kinds of great things! The steaks are still the best steaks anywhere in the state! Done to perfection! The salads nice and crisp and potatoes hot! Thanks for the wonderful experience!!

We had been looking forward to coming here for some time. We went all out and ordered the steak and two lobster tail meal ($135 for two dinners). Now, mind you, we wouldn’t have cared for the price at all until we got our food. The lobster tails looked amazing but lacked that sweet taste a good lobster tail should have. The rib-eye steak was very disappointing. About an eighth of an inch thick and with enough tenderizer that it made me sick later, I expect tenderizer like that in a steak from a Bonanza or Western Steak house, but not from a restaurant with their rating. Finally, the last thing I want to see when I eat in a restaurant is an employee making a political statement. I’m impressed so many find this place 5 stars, but my husband and I did not.

As always my husband and I love Unkies have been going there for a long time. Saturday night, busy as usual, waited over on the bar side for about 40 minutes no problem. Get called over to the restaurant got our table, drinks and appetizers we both knew our food was going to be a few more minutes after the appetizers so we stepped outside not even 3 minutes and to come back inside to our table wiped clean, everything gone. Not impressed with the service as being busy is not an unusual thing for Unkies. Don’t think I’ll be back.
