At University of Beer “UoB” our idea of relaxation is enjoying a quality brew with genuine people, so in 2012 we created a beer lover’s paradise for that exact purpose. Our passion is beer. Tonight I ordered the Fish and Chips. Beer battered cod with a side of waffle fries and slaw. The cod was very well fried, seasoned and crispy. Waffle fries were okay. The slaw was somewhat on the “wet” side. I enjoy my coleslaw to be more on the moderately wet and crunchier side. My glass of wine was delivered short on the pour, but was easily rectified after I asked about the normal pour. (Would it have be over looked had not asked? I’ll never know.) Always ask if I’m doubt is my motto.

I came here to sit down with my wife. The place is nothing special. It’s kind of very usual bar/pub. We sat outside and they have metal chairs and a table and they are not comfortable. The place is short of niceness. The atmosphere was lacking comfort and nothing feels special.

I absolutely loved this place! My fiancée and I went last weekend, loved it so much we went again this week! They were busy but we were still seated quickly on the patio(by request) they have plenty of propane warmers to keep the area warm. I can’t remember the waitstaff names from either trip, but I have yet to meet a single bad employee. The food is incredibly good for the price point and it was a festive but not overly loud and obnoxious environment. I’d say inside is definitely louder, but either way it was a great time. Their happy time deals are awesome and yhe portions are large. No pushy staff trying to upsell you, just cool people serving great food, finds, and unique beers. I’ll be back often for sure.

Drunken pig fries, Thai Lettuce Cups and Chorizo, and Muscles! The food is so yummy and satisfying, I can’t say I’ve ever had a single bad here! The cocktails are super good, though they are pricy at an average of 15 bucks per drink. But the Lilac Sour and Magonada are sooooo good. This is definitely our treat-your-self restaurant we like to splurge at while keeping the overall tab under 100.

The driest fish tacos I’ve ever had. It was so loud we could not hear anyone at the table- maybe that’s how they get the tables to turn over so quickly. It worked for us. Finally- so many mistakes with our order. We assumed that was because the server couldn’t hear us! The menu had some very delicious sounding items. I’m sorry it didn’t work out for us.

It’s pricey, but the quality of the food and service has been very consistent which makes it easier to justify. I’ve been to this location and the Eureka location and have been happy with both. The only thing I’ve ordered that i haven’t liked was the Beer Battered burger. I have no complaints about quality or execution… it’s just not for me. Most recently I’ve had the Shrimp Trio. Food was fresh, well prepared and all the flavors stood out as distinct. Both the host and server were attentive and friendly during the oddly busy Monday lunch. I wish I would have grabbed pictures because the presentation was also nice, what I got looked the same as the menu presentation.

They NEVER disappoint! Food is always great, and the staff is amazing. Andrew is so friendly and helpful – takes care of his customers and makes sure your completely satisfied. Great atmosphere and patio for friend and family. We LOVE this place!

When we arrived, it took a minute for staff to acknowledge us, finally having to approach staff to ask for a table. We were told there was a wait, even though there was a 6 top, plus 3 larger tables in the back. Staff told us the back was closed off, employees only. When looking at the “closed off tables”,employees had their laptops, personal belongings and other items all over the tables. There were technically 20+ seats available staff told us we could not sit in. The female employee that we initially approached to ask for a table, short brunette, was rude, unpleasant and came off as if we were an inconvenience. Frankly she was absolutely rude, almost enough to make us leave but we had traveled many hours that day and just wanted a warm meal.

I used to love this place. Usually can get a table right away. The food is really good but the prices doubled over the past year. They also got rid of a couple items we loved on the menu. With the average price of food around $18, I find myself going to other restaurants when we all go out with more reasonable pricing.
