THIS IS THE UNION WOODSHOP. THIS IS BIG-TIME SMALLTOWN BBQ. It begins and ends in the backlot, with a green hickory smoker that’s on a constant low-temp tear with an assortment of meats. It’s a ritual that starts with a careful rub and ends only when we think its time to pull the meat from the bath of smoke we surround it with. Pork butt. Brisket. Spare ribs. Back ribs. Whole birds and chicken wings alike. And bacon. Lots of bacon. Slow cooked bacon ready to be cut in from thick slabs into magical planks. Thank you pig, for all you do for us. It is a menu that’s rustic in its delivery and refined in its care.

Slow-smoked BBQ, wood-fired pizza & craft beers draw crowds to this hip rustic space.

We came in on a Thursday night. Our party of 3 got right in and our sever, Jay came right over. He was friendly and engaging and very familiar with the menu. We ordered the pulled pork, brisket and the sweet potato burrito. Max b cheese and tater tots were our sides of choice. The food came out just as we ordered. Hott fresh and tasty. If bbq is your thing, you’ll find a variety of sauces on the table. All in all a good experience! Will definitely come back!

Union woodshop was an excellent location for our 50th wedding anniversary party. Setting up the contract for renting the space and ordering food through the online portal was easy and very efficient. Christina and Hannah were always available to answer any questions. Venue is super cute and food was outstanding. Vegan options are available.

Great food in a laid-back atmosphere. Hell sauce has great flavor but is not overly hot. I had pulled chicken and baked beans. Chicken and beans were excellent, with the beans having a lot of spice, so beware.

I expected greatness and unfortunately I would say it was average. I ordered a half pound brisket and I am sure I was given a quarter. The brisket was tasty yes but not more special than other places. The mac was “fine”. I have to say I have had better and I dont get the raving. Sorry

Superb! First, I want to say that our server, Ryan, was perfect. He was gracious and polite and provided us with just the right amount of service. And our meal, there is so much to say, so I’ll keep it short. Everything was delicious, the coleslaw was crisp and not drowning in dressing, and the thick slices of homemade bread were the best. I haven’t had mac and cheese this good ever. The potato salad had scrumptious bits of fresh bacon and was not overly sweet. The ribs? Well go there, taste for yourself, and enjoy!

This was my first visit and I wanted to try a few options. We always get fried pickles if they are on the menu. You can usually get a good feel for what the meal will be like based on the type of breading, cut of pickle, and tanginess of the sauce with a fried pickle. These were top notch breading with the perfect fry to give a crispy crunch to the already crunchy dill. We loved these.

This place is always good. My go to’s are deep fried pickles, pulled pork, porky burger and union mac. Green bean casserole side never disappoints. Don’t forget to ask your server to bring the other sauces they keep refrigerated to the table, my favorite is the Hell sauce. Head upstairs to enjoy some cocktails and hangout. Disclaimer, this is one of those places that tends to put higher abv beer in a smaller tulip glass, so check the ounces and price when you order to avoid any confusion.

For yankee BBQ… it’s not half bad. Better than most BBQ places I’ve visited up North. They’ve got the basics right but like most, they miss a lot of the flavors that make Southern BBQ the standard… especially Texas BBQ. The brisket was dry and lacking in smoke and a bit tough.
