Our server (Shaun) was exceptional, making sure to request that the kitchen set aside vegetables for me since there isn’t a gluten-free bread option. She took the time to go over the menu with us and mentioned that there are great options for nonalcoholic beverages if you prefer not to drink.
The menu itself has a little bit of everything, catering to all taste buds. I can’t recommend this place enough check it out soon!
Great potential, but rough execution out of the gate.
We had reserved a table in the bar but were mistakenly seated in the back room. We ended up moving ourselves to the bar rail without any issues. First impressions of the space were positive—the large bar and overall atmosphere fit the speakeasy theme they’re aiming for.
However, the dance-club music (an odd choice for a speakeasy) was played so loudly that normal conversation was difficult. The lighting was also far too bright for the ambiance they seem to be going for. There are two TVs in the bar area: one showing black-and-white films and the other playing reruns of The Sopranos, complete with nudity and sex scenes, which clearly made some guests uncomfortable.
For an upscale specialty bar, the drink menu felt extremely limited, and using Buffalo Trace for their signature bourbon Old Fashioned is a surprisingly low-end choice given the price point. We watched as bartenders used different recipes for the same cocktails, including adding vanilla liquor into the Tequila Daisy because “It just tastes better my way!” Charging $3 for a small bowl of stale popcorn actually made us laugh—though the bartender was kind enough to refill it at no cost.
We ordered three shareables, including the charcuterie board, but after waiting 90 minutes with no food arriving, we decided to cut our losses and close out. We witnessed many others doing the same out of frustration. When we questioned why the charcuterie couldn’t have been provided, management response was that “One kitchen, everything gets put in the same line.”
Blind Tiger team: change the playlist to match the vibe, turn down the volume and the lights, and upgrade/expand the drink menu and you could really have a winner here. We understand the growing pains of a new kitchen, but the overall experience needs tuning to match the concept.
Walking in for the first time, we were pleasantly surprised to see an old friend of ours, Carl as the GM! We were very happy to learn he was the GM, and we know it’s in great hands!
Once we were seated, Monday introduced himself as our server. He was EXCEPTIONAL!
We ordered the preztle bites as an app, and my wife loved the cheese while I enjoyed the mustard spread.
For lunch, we had the steak frites and the Philly.
I tried my wife’s steak frites and while not a fan of coffee, the steak was cooked wonderfully and very flavorful. The mushrooms were amazing!
I felt the Philly I ordered was missing something, but still very good. After our meal, the PM asked us for our opinions and was very excited to hear our feedback. She suggested a few potential changes to the menu item to get our input, and that was such a great experience!
Overall, the service was top notch, and I’m exceptionally excited for the opening of blind tiger and to see their great menu continue to grow and evolve over time! Happy to have you local, keep up the great work!
