Went here during our recent trip to Acadia National Park in August 2025 wanting to eat some Maine lobster and other local cuisine. We waited about 30-40 minutes on a rainy evening. Was able to observe a lady cooking to order the lobsters while waiting for our table. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The restaurant was about average noise level and suitable for large groups. would recommend going to this lobster pound in Ellsworth.

We waited over an hour for seats here and wish they took reservations because that would have made our day go by so much faster.

The food was good, however I got the street corn and it looked nothing like the banner they had on their website. The description said there would be bell pepper and onion but I couldnt see either and I wasn’t even sure if there was feta either. The salad I ordered also took awhile to come out.

The cheese curds were amazing though. I dont have high hopes for anything outside of Wisconsin but these exceeded my expectations.

We also got the lobster. Its just as good, if not better than most of the lobster places around. Price wise 2 1/4 lobster for $44 is great. The muscles and claws were cooked well, and not rubbery in any way. The lobster stew had a lot of lobster however the stew (broth) was not creamy and more on the watery side.

Food came out quickly and the staff was very kind.

We had a fabulous dinner in our first night in Maine. We joined the wait-list (which was an hour) checked into our Airbnb and came back. We had time to look at how the lobsters are cooked outside. I got a cup of the New England clam chowder and it was delicious. I had a small lobster and my husband has the crab pot. We had the blueberry pie for dessert. Our meal was delicious and the service was great. We’re so happy we made it before they closed for the season.

Came here twice during our stay in the area. They do not take reservations and they don’t take parties greater than 8. So keep that in mind.

Lobster, lobster pie, fried clams and lobster rolls were amazing. Servers were also friendly and attentive!

First off, the food was delicious! I had the baked stuffed haddock and my husband had the salmon… SO MANY FLAVORS!!! The Thai Curry Mussels are a MUST TRY!

Our server, Madeline, was very kind, and on point our entire visit! Thank you!

And Cliff at the outside bar was so friendly!

The Blueberry Sangria was dangerously delicious!

Oh, and the location on the river, with a large seating area to sit while you wait was beautiful! Will definitely be back on our next visit!

Good portions for the price. The clam chowder was amazing, the crab cakes are to die for with the aoili sauce, the blueberry sangria was great…only complaint not really a complaint just whatever you prefer. I like a coleslaw that is wet and their coleslaw was on the dryer side for my liking and didn’t have any flavor. Their version of the street corn had great flavor.

I loved it here! We had awesome service, food, drinks, and views. There’s plenty of outdoor seating. They had a band going last night. The menu has all sorts of options. I thought it was fairly priced for what we got! You can also go outside and see the lobster and the area where they prepare the lobster. Pretty place.

The fried clams were very good, lots of lobster in the lobster stew, but the broth could have used some more flavor. Service was nice, but we never got drunk refills and the dining room wasn’t busy. Better than average, but not amazing

We got here 15 minutes after they opened and by the time we left, it was a full restaurant! And I can see why. Best crab cakes and lobster pie I’ve ever had. And my husband loved the fried shrimp!
