They have a surprising amount of vegetarian and vegan options for a dive bar! Stopped by with my friends before our scheduled train ride, and we were able to be seated. All of us are vegetarian, so we were happy to have multiple options to choose from. I got the fried cauliflower and mushrooms in the hot raspberry sauce. The veggies were crispy and the sauce was unique. 2 of my friends both got tacos, and the portion sizes were big. They didn’t like the sweet chilli sauce on the tacos, but otherwise enjoyed.
The price felt super reasonable for the portion. They are cash only, but that’s clearly stated on the menu and they have an ATM.

Great food at a reasonable price with great, friendly service. We just got a burger and panini before heading to a show. Both were done perfectly. Portions were good and above all, they had great flavor. All the other meals we saw folks getting looked great, too. Lots of menu and drink options. The place has a great, down home kind of vibe and it seems like a lot of locals come here, but we were warmly welcomed. We’ll be back!

Party of 2 cash only,
We went here because other locations in the area seemed to shut down early, and they had a variety of vegatarian options for my wife.

Drinks:
I ordered a traditional long island Ice Tea and my wife the fresh squeezed orange juice. She felt the orange juice had good flavor but the body was a little watered down, limited pulp. I loved my LIT.  But it was a true dive bar, where else.

Appetizers:
We ended up with 3, needless to say they were all good. For the fresh chips and salsa, the chips were excellent with a nice crunch, however the salsa felt jarred and lacked the texture of a fresh Pico de Gallo..

We also ordered the vegan potstickers, my wife didn’t care for them as much as I did, she felt they were overly salty, and the contents were heavy with soy sauce. I, on the other hand, I liked them. They went well with my drink, and I appreciated the peas and carrots along with the asian inspired chili sauce.

By some fortunes, we ended up with the purogies, they were excellent, houseade not boxed and the sour cream was good but they needed a sauce. If I were to actually order them, I would try there: Pierogies à la Kevy

Mains:
It was taco Wednesday? So we bolth got tacos.my wife 2 of the vegetable, and for me 2 beef.  I  also added a entree of the crab cakes.
There was some confusion of the vegetable dijor, needless to say, it came with broccoli and mashed potatoes.

Again my wife didn’t really care for the tacos, as she doesn’t like squash in general and butternut can be strong. I actually liked the beef, I felt it was under seasoned and could use some shredded cheese “absent” however the flavors worked. The crab cakes were also.good, however shaped for there crab cake sandwich. No filler and used real crab meat. But needed some tarter sauce which I didn’t get till the end. It was  refreshing and house made.

Overall:
If this had been anyplace else, I would probably have something to say but I don’t. It was honest home cooked food with an excellent bar. The waiter eyeballed quality long islands and everything there was designed to go with a pint.

I would go.back in a minute The Union Publick House is what it says it is, a fine house of food and drink, no pretentious attached.

Thank you for a wonderful dinner.

The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was fantastic!! They have a sign over the bar that says ONLY DIVE BAR IN JIM THORPE. I wouldn’t call it a dive bar, I call it a hidden little gem! Our AIRBNB host recommended it and we were not disappointed !! They had a great selection of music playing and available outside seating. If you’re in Jim Thorpe… do not miss this place.

Walked in last night on a Friday night at 6pm with a party of four. It was packed! We were greeted promptly and told it would only be about a 10 minute wait. (They do offer reservations so we know that for next time). We waited and grabbed a beer from the bar. Their beer selection is huge, everything from typical domestics to high abv stouts from breweries all over. Our waitress was great, food was excellent, the place was packed all night but service stayed on point! Hot Raspberry wings were definitely unique, Southwest wings were very good, shrimp po boy was so good I could eat another today, and the Cuban was unique with sweet chili sauce instead of the typical mustard on it. We’ll definitely be back soon.

Food is always good, whether taco night on Wednesday or burger night Thursday, or maybe just a random weekly stop on the way home from work for a random item off the menu. Then they always have some top notch beer that’s constantly changing and of high local quality. The people behind the bar and management are some of the friendliest people you’ll meet, and the bar is usually ripe with something good on the jukebox, or internet box as it is in the present. Overall a legit establishment that you’ll enjoy in any capacity.

Small town bar with great food and drink selection. Service was attentive. Locals recommended; glad we took the advice. The Po’ Boy didn’t disappoint, the salad was fresh and generous, the cheesesteak was abundant.

I have been here many times and the team at Union Publick House always delivers. Great menu and delicious food. Fair pricing and good portions. Great selection of beer and it is always cold. Limited seating and although I typically sit at the bar, I suggest making a reservation on busier nights. Great spot!

Great place for brunch. The food is surprisingly more diverse and delicious than you’d expect from a “Pub”. The deviled eggs were especially good. We sat outside, which was nice and the staff was very friendly and attentive.

Had dinner here tonight and wow — the food did not disappoint! The flash-fried Brussels sprouts were next-level amazing, and the crab cakes were packed with flavor and totally crave-worthy!

Service was okay — friendly locals, but the food more than made up for it. Solid cocktails, great portions, cozy ambiance. I’d absolutely come back just for those Brussels alone!

Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and looking for something casual but delicious.
