We dined here 2/15 for the first time. Great atmosphere, the food left a little to be desired. Not bad by any standards, but definitely room for improvements. Apps were fine, wine selection was good. My wife’s ossobuco was pretty undercooked, needed a knife to eat it. I had the prime rib, looked properly cooked upon being served, though I believe it could have used a hotter cook for more of a seared exterior and further interior fat rendering. Dessert was the strawberry tiramisu, tasted like it had canned whipped cream on top. Overall an ok meal, but not out of this world for the price.

My first time dining at Union and I definitely want to go back! Sara, Jess, and Austin all checked in on me at different points, making sure I had what I needed and was enjoying my food and drink. I got the Union Burger and the Blood Moon for my drink. I would recommend both to anyone eating there.

We had a couples date night here this evening. Our server was extremely friendly! To start we ordered wings and a Caesar salad. I had the chicken franceses and an espresso martini. The wings were delicious… the Caesar salad left something to be desired. My meal was good, but I think I will try something different next time. My espresso martini was yummy. If you are looking for something that is rushed this is not your place, but if you’d like a relaxed meal where you can sit and chat this place is great.

Arrived for a late Valentines dinner. Was brought to a back room with very little decor and no mood lighting. Ordered Calamari as an appetizer and it was rubbery and bland. The menu said it had cherry peppers but they used peppercini and did not come with the lemon aoli. Not a big deal but showed a lack of attention to detail. Ordered the chicken francese and again it was very bland and the lemon was undetectable. The linguine was very basic with almost no flavor. Then ordered the tiramisu and it looked like it was plated using a laddle. Very haphazardly tossed on a plate. The waitress was very nice but sadly the meal itself was extremely lackluster and disappointing. For a place touting itself on its website as upscale, I was very underwhelmed

I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews. Becca our waitress was amazing.

That being said. There was a MOUSE running around while we ate. Despite numerous health code restrictions in the state of New Hampshire we were told this was a normal occurrence due to it being an older building.

What we ordered: ravioli caprese: seasoned well but under cooked. Scallop Risotto: scallops were undercooked (slimy and fishy) and the Risotto was bland not seasoned at all.

Our bill was over $120, we paid and left but to pay $120 for a restaurant with mice is wild! Everyone made it seem like we were being dramatic or over the top. I would not recommend this place EVER!

We came for the first time on a Thursday at 5:30. We had a reservation, but there was no one there so we probably didn’t need one. Our server came right over, but I’m not sure who he was because he didn’t introduce himself. We started with two cocktails and a shrimp appetizer. The shrimp came out suspiciously quickly, but it was very good. Entrees were a Thanksgiving sandwich special and a chicken francese. My chicken was delicious! It reminded me of a deconstructed chicken broccoli alfredo that you can get anywhere, but different. I like the vibe of the restaurant, and the food was delicious. I’ll definitely be going back.

March 2026: pretty good, although not as good as two years ago. Tuna tartar appetizer. Scallop risotto. Dubai cheesecake.
March 2024: Union Public House has been open for two weeks. It is located in the old bank building that housed several different restaurants through the years. We really enjoyed our dinner here. We had muscles and crab cakes as appetizers, both were delicious. The main entrees of rack of lamb and strip steak were well prepared, requested medium rare, and flavorful. sides were delicious as well. We split chocolate tort for dessert, it was okay. I thought it was the weakest of the courses. The service was attentive and the restaurant looked nice inside. It has a lot of high chairs, but some regular table height tables with very comfortable chairs as well.

March 2026: Not as good as the last time we were here but still decent. Had the harvest salad which was a generous portion and very good. For my main I had the prime rib. The presentation wasn’t very attractive but it was generally OK. Will try something else next time.
March 2024: This is the third restaurant thats been in this location, Union is the best of them.
I had the mussels, a strip steak and the chocolate torte. The mussels were superb, very plump and a terrific broth. The steak was well prepared, overall it was very good. The torte was also very good.

Soon as you walk in the door the atmosphere is cozy, beautiful, and welcoming. The portraits on the wall are hilarious. The vibe is upscale but not stuffy. I couldn’t ask for a better atmosphere. I so wanted the food to be great so we could go back and enjoy that vibe. Sadly it was not to be. The food is very expensive, $47 for a 14oz steak when others are charging about $37. I wouldn’t have cared if it had been amazing, and it was so not. It was cooked to perfection, but it was so incredibly heavily spiced that the flavor of the meat was completely lost. There was so much spice the steak was literally crunchy from the little balls of spices. The spices didn’t complement the meat, it was overwhelming and the only detectable flavor. On the other hand, the lemon chicken with a reduction (I don’t remember what kind) was so bland it was unappetizing. I have no problem with food that’s expensive if I can rave about how good it was. Neither of us enjoyed the food particularly, and we’re not picky.
In addition, our server was very pleasant and seemed to be trying, but for whatever reason the service was really slow. I get that coffee runs out and needs to be made, that’s no problem, but waiting 10 minutes to tell me it’s brewing left us wondering what was happening.
Summary, if they improved the food and service I would go back in a heartbeat. The folks we interacted with were great, and the ambiance they’ve created is fantastic. I just can’t bring myself to pay that much for food I don’t really like all that much.

Food was not as good as expected and drinks were expensive. Music was too loud to enjoy quiet conversation. And the mouse running around the dining room after we finished eating ensured that we won’t be going back.
