We stopped in for an early dinner on a Wednesday. It was very slow and we basically had the place to ourselves. The staff went above and beyond to make our first time amazing. My husband ordered the All-American burger and fries which he enjoyed throughly. I ordered a Ranch Water to drink and the Fish & Chips. Let me tell you, their fries are phenomenal! The fish not so much. BUT, as I said, the staff was extremely friendly and involved to try to fix the issue. The first batch that came out, the batter was quite dark and yet there was no crisp or crunch and was almost raw in spots. The fish inside was still fresh, delicious, and cooked perfectly and their tartar sauce was delicious! Our server brought it to the attention of the manager and chef. They made me another batch to try again on the batter. Even though it didn’t work the second time, I wasn’t upset. They handled the situation amazingly and even brought out a small to-go of their Chocolate Cake to apologize. We still left full, happy, and wanting to go back again in the future. Hopefully the 4 stars can go up to a 5. Thank you again for the great food and hospitality!

Went on a Monday after a day at the beach. No wait for a table, unlike some of our other experiences in the area. Our server, Amy, was very friendly and helpful with questions. Cheese curds for an appetizer turned out to be a good start, everybody enjoyed them. Lots of good drink choices, with some Michigan beers available. Ribs were delicious, good smokey flavor and cooked perfect. Burger and mac and cheese were great. Wish I could have talked my daughter into adding the brisket with the mac and cheese, but she wasn’t interested. No room for dessert. Would return if in the area again.

Cute place with a great atmosphere and outdoor seating!
We stopped by Union Pier Social and loved everything about it. The outdoor seating was perfect for a sunny day, and the food was just as impressive. The pizza was loaded with flavor — melty cheese, sweet pineapple, savory BBQ, and a kick of freshness from the scallions. The salad was colorful and packed with texture — crunchy tortilla strips, roasted corn, buffalo cauliflower, and creamy dressing on the side. Definitely a spot we’ll come back to!

My friend and I went there for the first time and if I could give more than five stars, I would this is how phenomenal this little place is. The atmosphere so warm and welcoming the staff the other customers everyone just treated us like we were family, but let me begin with the food. I have never had firecracker Shrimp is what they call it. Oh my God it was the most delicious appetizer I have ever had the shrimp had a light, sweet and spicy sauce, but it wasn’t overpowering it was I don’t know how to explain just perfect! Then I went on to have their Italian beef sandwich which I found out they smoked the beef every day. It had a flavor like nothing I have ever had before if my stomach was bigger, I would’ve had another one. Let me tell you that’s how great it was And on Tuesday nights they have bingo. You play bingo while you eat and it is so much fun because everybody is involved and into it, I’ve met so many other customers that were so friendly that made me feel like I was family. Their people profits goes to an organization you know in this case it was for animals I mean, what a great thing that they do. And Steve, the owner manager is the most friendly welcoming person I have ever met. I’m telling you if you get a chance and you’re looking for a really fun place to go with good food good atmosphere good friends make your way to the union pier social in Union pier Michigan, which is only 4 miles from new Buffalo, Michigan, which is very close to Chicago and I know a lot of my Chicago friends come to new Buffalo so a couple minutes more you want great food ask for Steve and tell him Sue sent you and you will not regret it. I can’t wait to go back.

Union Pier Social is a nice place for a meal and gathering. Interesting menu with a decent breadth of items. Be sure to check out the online menu since changes impact the photos of menus. They do attend to dietary restrictions and cooked me a new burger after mistakenly putting the first on on a gluten containing bun. Food good as well as drinks. Portions not large. Service was ok. We were having a family event and were largely left to ourselves, leaving long stretches with no attention. Large patio to eat outside as the weather allows. Spacious inside dining room with numerous tvs with sports on.

Cheese curds? Handmade. Martini? They added glitter. My salad? Phenomenal as always.
And the patio? Dog friendly, shady and the interior is beautiful!
Absolutely recommend this spot!

Union Pier Social was a true treasure of an experience! My bf and I went on a Friday night and they had great live music. Trisha was our server, and she was fantastic!! Excellent beer list full of Michigan beers. We got Cheese Curds (awesome), the Baja Burger with truffle fries and the Veggie pizza + pepperoni. Plus the gluten free chocolate “cake” which is much more like fudge. This place is a must visit for anyone in the area!

Union Pier was okay, nothing special. The food was decent, but pricey. Our bartender was distracted, and not by other customers, but my other employees and friends. We stopped in for a quick lunch, and for basically microwaved food (Shepherds pie, we were warned they may be out of, but luckily they found one last serving) a beet salad, that didn’t match the description from the menu. Ingredients were missing or not there at all. Corn chowder soup was just average. So yeah, pricey for what we got. Anyhoo, it’s cute in there… maybe it was an off day. I’d go back tho, to give them another go round.
