The Underground Kitchen has delicious food! I got the creamy udon with bulgogi and I don’t know if it could have been more incredible!! I also got the spicy fried chick and it was perfection. Not the most kid friendly atmosphere but the food is absolutely amazing!

The food here is delicious. The creamy seafood udon was my favorite! The service is also amazing. However, the music is SO LOUD, too loud. Playlist is spot on though! My friend and I had to yell at each other across the table in order to hold a conversation. Way too many times did we miss what the other person said due to the loud music. It gives more of a bar/club vibe rather than a restaurant. If that’s the vibe they are going for then they nailed it. Otherwise, I feel like the music could be turned down a notch. I don’t know if the music regularly plays really loud or if it was just the night we went. The bathroom was out of everything – TP, paper towels, toilet seat covers and soap. I wouldn’t want to dine in again due to the lack of restock and obnoxiously loud music, I’d still be happy to order take out!

A little bit of an odd vibe, but the food was fantastic, I got the half and half chicken, wife got seafood udom, both of us were extremely happy. Special shout to their steamed dumplings those were midnight blowing. Would definitely be back again.

I rarely write reviews, but my experience at Underground Chicken in Federal Way was so astonishingly bad that it feels almost like a public service to warn others. The name “Underground” couldn’t be more fitting, because the entire establishment looks and feels like it belongs beneath street level. The dining area was cluttered, grimy, and downright filthy. Tables were sticky, trash cans overflowing, and there was a faint smell that made you question whether anything in that kitchen sees soap or sanitizer. It’s the kind of environment where you hesitate to touch anything including the food.
The service somehow managed to be even worse. There were three staff members working on the floor, a young woman, a guy in a hat, and another younger boy with a styled, Korean-inspired haircut who stood out for all the wrong reasons. He was by far the worst of the three. The young boy at the counter was rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in doing his job. No greeting, no urgency, just a glare that said customers are an inconvenience. Another customer waiting beside me was clearly frustrated too and with good reason. There’s no sense of professionalism, no pride, and certainly no understanding of what hospitality means.
When my order finally arrived, it was the final insult. The chicken tasted like something thawed from a freezer and microwaved until barely edible and bland, rubbery, and completely lacking in flavor. It’s amazing how a restaurant can serve food that tastes exactly like the environment it’s made in: cold, lifeless, and unclean.
This place needs a serious wake-up call. A full sanitation overhaul wouldn’t hurt either. Until they learn that cleanliness, respect, and edible food are the bare minimum for running a restaurant, Underground Chicken will remain exactly what it is a dirty, dismal experience best left buried where it belongs.

We decided to tried this place on 9/13/21 (during the pandemic). The restaurant is located in the same building as the Shin Sung Korean Cuisine and in between Hair Bank business. There’s a door that leads downstairs. The restaurant is literally underground LOL!
One of my daughter’s friend had raved about the how good the honey garlic chicken was and suggested we try it. One evening, we ordered the honey garlic chicken ($23.00) to include the beef brisket with bean sprouts ($20.99). They both were delicious! Honestly, I’m just not convinced with paying $23.00 for the amount of chicken we received. The cost seemed pretty high.

Nice little hole in the wall place that serves Korean fried chicken and other traditional style dishes. The food is always good here with large portions at a reasonable price. Our favorites were the Honey Garlic and Spicy Yungnyum wings, Creamy Udon, and Creamy Onion Chicken (boneless). Soju cocktails are bomb. It’s definitely a fun spot for the younger generation. This place definitely made out girls’ night enjoyable.

We ordered yumyang, honey garlic chicken, and stir-fried glass noodles. The yumyang is genuinely delicious, while the honey garlic chicken has a nice taste and a strong honey flavor, but I wish it had more garlic flavor. The noodles are fantastic! Overall, it’s a satisfying meal!

Kids loved their food orders. Bulgogi and Rice Cake plate. they rated food 10/10.
I enjoyed the garlic chicken but would have been nice if the chicken was garnished with sesame seeds and green onion. I didn’t really taste much garlic in the sauce but i guess this is a personal preference. Loved the yogurt cocktail. Took a while for the food to come out.
music was loud for us. we couldn’t really hear each other unless we were yelling our words out. But we understand it’s similar to sports bar. Had a great first time experience until i had to wash my hands in restroom sink. Restroom ruined the experience for me Urinal in same room with toilet is not a good idea.
Urinal stank . placed right in front of the toilet it was too much for me, I wish i didnt have to go wash my hands but i had to, after eating the wings. I didnt even use the toilet it just wreaked of pee in the entire room i couldn’t stand it

Will never becoming again. Should have listened to all the bad reviews I saw here. Staff sucks, they tried adding an extra item to my bill that we did not order. They were giving my husband a difficult time with removing the item until I went there to talk to them. Their bathroom smells like a sewer that goes to the dining room since their urinal is broken. It was horrific. Don’t waste your time or money here, there’s better places . Bad service will always turn customers away.

They only had 2 servers when I visited Friday at 9 pm, the wait time was around 30-40 minutes. The food came out super fast and tasted delicious! I would recommend trying the creamy udon as well as the deep fried chicken gizards.
