We visited Uncle Yu’s today and had a fantastic dining experience! We ordered everything at once, starting with the Hot and Sour Chicken Soup, followed by the Crab Stuffed Prawn, Kung Pao Shrimp, and Crab Fried Rice—all based on our server’s recommendations.

The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Despite our hunger and indecision, our server was patient and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu and helping us make the best choices. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was both comfortable and inviting.

Highly recommend Uncle Yu’s for an amazing meal and top-notch service!

Ordered takeout spicy scallops and hot and sour soup and wonton soup. The wonton soup was good. The scallops smelled and tasted so strongly of seafood gone bad that I threw the entire container out after 1 bite. The hot and sour soup was overly thick, oily and missing most of the tofu, pork, mushrooms, etc. that one expects with hot and sour soup – it was brown soup with a few unrecognizable bits. This is the third time I’ve had horrible food here. Not sure why Lafayette residents like it – maybe because three generations have gone here and they’ve never eaten at another Chinese restaurant? They are very fast for takeout.

Excellent and nicely presented Asian food. The service was quick.
The two of us split the Lemon Chicken and Hong Kong thin and crispy noodles with vegetables and chicken entres. The noodles were just as desired and both dishes satisfied. Nice decor. Limited parking.

Good food, elegant atmosphere
This lovely, white-tablecloth restaurant has been at this location for many years. The service is very fast but not all that friendly. I don’t think of it as particularly authentic. The takeout service is super fast and convenient.

Our first meal in the U.S one word, outstanding, the service was excellent and the portion sizes huge. The rest of our 3 week trip now has competition, i think it will be hard to beat.

The food was OK for the price. The atmosphere was also just OK. The seating was uncomfortable especially because of my inability to plate my food from the table without having to get up to reach the food. Service was just OK but not special or worthy of a gratitude. I paid for my family’s meals but felt the services or atmosphere was not outstanding enough to warrant a tip. However, after I paid and we were leaving the establishment to our car one of the restaurant’s staff ran out after us and demanded a tip. Because of this rather strong arm demand, I begrudgingly gave them a tip. As a result of that action, which was somewhat intimidating, I will never patronize this establishment ever again.

We ordered 1/2 a roasted duck for takeout. Opened it up to find this, spoon for size comparison. This is such a small amount of meat. Very expensive for that much meat.

Good food but closed on Christmas day… I had to drive to Oakland’s China Town..
How times have changed, I went by not expecting to stop but had a craving, I drove by after being taken advantage of this afternoon for lunch at WazWan in Emeryville $24.50 for a Togo lunch that a month ago cost me $12.50 for more food.. so I didn’t want to pay big money so I went to Panda just up the street, I saw a long line and drove through the parking lot with no spaces and at the end of the centers parking lot is an alley way into Uncle Yu’$$$ parking lot. I went in and ordered a 30 year old favorite Manderine Triple Crown and BBQ Pork Fried Rice. togo $33.81, WOW! It ain’t that special!
