This place is a good standby for Chinese food. Some plates are Americanized, and less tasty, but overall, the food is good and service is excellent. The atmosphere is cozy and modern.

Uncle Ted’s is back! It’s so great when a longtime local business recovers from a setback. Their new space is elegant and bright, and the food tastes great. $10-11 lunch special is a great deal for the area with good portions and flavors. Even the wontons in the wonton soup were surprisingly tasty. Looking forward to coming by often.

Disappointing dining experience. I checked the google reviews and came here specifically to eat the ginger scallion lobster. If there’s a photo published, you would think it’s on the menu. I asked the waiter if we could order, and he said we needed to reserve it in advance.

I love Unkle Ted’s! All the Chinese cuisine e restaurants have closed in my neighborhood. I saw this place when walking home one day and I stopped in. I am so glad I did. This is the best and am I so happy I tried it. This is my regulate place to eat. I have spread the word to all my friends who live in the area. I live in Stuytown and pick up. They do deliver but choose to pick up. I walk home very fast, so food is hot. Lol. I always gets generals chicken which comes with broccoli florets and white rice and a small wonton soup. $25.04. Well worth it. Chicken is fresh and lightly battered with a light coating of sweet n tangy sauce. It is not greasy or heavy. The portion size is large. I get 2 meals out of 1 portion. ( I already started eating before I took photo below.) The staff is so nice. They used to give the most pretty, sturdy, shopping bag, as shown below. Today, I just got a brown shopping bag; maybe they ran out. I always tip when I pick up. The Dining area is pretty and staff is so tentative and nice. Eat Here! Support your local, new businesses.

The food is good. I like the lemon taste in the cup water and soft warm brown rice in pepper beef (I had three bowls). It will be bette if the soup is less salty. Hope they will keep on perfecting the details and make delicious foods since it’s hard to find a good restaurant near the Washington square park in these days.
