I’ve probably ordered the pizza here in excess of 50 times, my favorite being the Philly Cheese Steak pizza (depicted below). Their pizza is par excellence the best around the UT campus, and their other menu items are good too (the fried pickles, for example). If you’re visiting, you’d do yourself a disservice if you don’t come down and get something from Uncle Sam’s.
The inside is always clean and relatively quiet, even when busy, and the staff is friendly considerate.
10/10 would recommend.

PLEASE disregard any negative reviews of this place. My mom moved to Knoxville six months ago and has yet to find a good pasta restaurant. We wanted to find a nearby option, so we decided to try this place and were blown away! The owner took our order and confidently said, “If you don’t like it, I’ll pay for it,” which immediately put us at ease. The food arrived hot and fresh, and we devoured it so quickly and we still had leftovers! The owner even showed us around the kitchen and we were so impressed with the freshness and cleanliness of everything. Coming from someone who works in the service industry, this kitchen was truly impressive!
Needless to say, we’re already planning our next visit before I fly back home. Also, try the cheesecake! It’s worth the calories, I promise! ❤️

The owner is super friendly and works so hard to make this place the success it is! Uncle sams is clean (especially for being in the fort) and has great Italian food! We love their specialty pizza — specifically the chicken Alfredo! I also highly recommend popping over to the coffee shop next door to which is also owned by sam! They are great places to study, eat, or chill!

Pizza was delicious, very cheesy! Me and my mom also got free drinks since it was our first time here! Though there was something in my sprite… overall the food and service was good.

I walked in with no real idea of what I wanted for dinner but was told by a friend to try this place. Sammy, the owner greeted me and made me the most delicious, hot chicken alfredo with fresh mushroom and spinach that isn’t on the menu. And it came with really fresh hot breadsticks on the side. He said they’ve been in business for 3 years. How did I not know about this place? I’ll definitely be back with friends. Try them… you won’t be disappointed and may become addicted.
Thank you Sammy…

Ever since I found out about this place, me and my friends have been going almost weekly, it is sooooooo good! Their Alfredo sauce is incredible and comes with 3 buttery bread twists and I always leave highly satisfied and very full. Everything is organic and prepared in-house and day-of. This is my new top restaurant recommendation in all of downtown Knoxville!

We came in around 1 on a Saturday and it was not busy at all! The (maybe) owner was so kind and came and cleaned our tables and gave us water bottles on the house. There is plenty of options on the menu and the food came out quick and hot! Owner kept checking on us and the food was great

For starters, there’s limited amount of parking. A tiny parking lot surrounded by apartments so you know what happens if you park in numbered spots. We ordered a Large Chicken Parm pizza and the chicken tender basket for the kids. It was so hot inside due to the AC Being broken which is fine. The very generous man working did give us free, cold bottles of water. We went to get seats outside since it was a little cooler but every outside table was dirty even though we were the only customers in sight. We went back inside to seat ourselves and wait on our food. As we were waiting, my very young son wiped the back of his neck and his hand was soaked in sweat, we were all burning up. Not a long wait, our food comes out also extremely hot, along with Great Value paper plates to eat on. I prepped the chicken tender basket for the kids to eat. The chicken and fries are the typical, gas station like, pre frozen tenders. We’ve all had them. Fries too, no big deal. Upon inspection of the pizza, we noticed the same type of chicken tenders were also fried and cut up for the toppings on our chicken parm pizza. Slightly offended at this point lol. Pizza has no taste, dough is heavy duty, almost no sauce and gas station chicken tenders. $32 meal… I could only eat one slice of the pizza. Second time in my life I can recall only eating one slice and becoming uninterested in the rest of it. (3.6/10) I’d compare it to a light/ no sauced Little Ceasars pizza. Anyways, not a “bad”experience, but an unexpected let down for sure. I’ll never forget the Great Value plates lol.
I will say the staff was friendly and he did give us free water so there’s that.

Second time I was here and every time it got even better! Our first time was amazing as we were greeted by the owner, and he attended right away to us. He is kind and open to share about his food or experience. He gave us free water bottles and even gave us a special treat this time. The food is always fresh, and the ingredients feel like high quality. It’s not overprice or super expensive. It is affordable for family and college age students. The restaurant itself is very spacious with different types of seatings. The serving size is also more than enough as I usually leave here really full or with leftovers. The plates are in to-go containers. This is extremely convenient for customers to just eat what they can and leave without needing to ask for a to-go or feeling rush to leave. Can’t go wrong coming to Uncle Sam’s!
