The food overall was good, but the portion sizes were significantly smaller than expected for the price. I ordered the lamb pizza, which was excellent—well-seasoned, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the meal.

Unfortunately, the lamb platter was disappointing. For the price charged, the portion did not justify the cost. We received five small pieces of lamb in a red tomato-based sauce with a modest serving of rice. While the dish itself was acceptable in taste, it felt underwhelming and lacked value.

Additionally, the final bill did not match the prices listed on the menu. I understand that costs have increased recently, but price discrepancies should be clearly communicated to customers in advance. Transparency matters.

Overall, while the pizza stood out, the inconsistent value and pricing issues would prevent me from returning.

I’ve always been a fan of Uncle Momo’s in Montclair, so I was excited when I heard they were opening a new location in Denville. I went today and it was amazing. The space feels inviting, and the food was just as great as the Montclair location.

We ordered the beef shawarma plate, Uncle Momo’s breakfast, hummus, and baba ganoush—everything was fresh, flavorful, and super delicious. The warm, in-house baked pita that they serve with it is next level. We also had the hibiscus iced tea, which was perfect for a warm summer day. We wrapped it up with some hot mint tea, and I’m looking forward to visiting again soon.

Delicious food! The hummus and pita was amazing as was my egg platter, definitely will be back. Only minor complaint is that the avocado toast could have used more avocado. However, it was all very tasty!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I absolutely love this place! Their tabouleh salad and lamb tajine are incredible. I was never a big fan of vegetables, but now I find myself coming here almost every day just for their salad, the pomegranate molasses dressing is so refreshing and delicious.

The salmon is also one of my favorite dishes, vibrant, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I really appreciate that they allow substitutions (I’m avoiding carbs right now), and you can literally taste the freshness in every bite.

10/10. Definitely coming back!

PLEASE if you haven’t done it yet try their Isa lemonade it’s so delicious!! I ate the Zeit W zaatar crepe and their granola parfait. I was happy when I was told their crepes are gluten free since I have a gluten allergy. The place is clean, polished and makes you feel like you are transported to Morocco/ France, the tiles on the walls are beautifully decorated. I’ll be coming back again and again and again

Got to try out this new place in town for some fresh, tasty Mediterranean fare. We all opted for brunch options around noon but their dinner menu is quite tempting to come back and try sooner rather than later.
Pictured are the middle eastern eggs, Tunisian eggs, and a fruit/Nutella crepe for the hatchling.
The platters were fresh and vibrant, full of flavor and accompanied by pita baked in house. I myself had the Tunisian eggs for the promise of some heat (just dragon things) so my only nitpick is that there wasn’t any spice to it at all. But still scraped that bowl clean with all the pita regardless.
Special mention that the crepes are made with a quinoa flour and therefore gluten free. And yet my 3 year old hatchling still loved it and didn’t have a fit, happy folks all around.

Uncle Momo’s is an absolute gem. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a beautifully designed, warm, and inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. The aesthetic alone sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience.

The service is outstanding. Even when I stopped by just to pick up an order, the host kindly brought me water while I waited, a small gesture that speaks volumes about their hospitality. On another visit, my husband and I sat down for dinner, and the experience was nothing short of incredible. Every staff member we interacted with was attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure we enjoyed our meal.

Uncle Momo’s has quickly become one of our favorite spots. Between the cozy ambiance, the thoughtful service, and the overall welcoming energy, it’s the kind of restaurant you can’t wait to return to. Highly recommended!

Stopped into Uncle Momo’s on the 1st rainy/snowy night of the season, and was pleasantly surprised by the warm inviting atmosphere of this recent addition to the Denville downtown. Inside was an eclectic little mix of memorabilia in a cozy atmosphere with a warm greeting from the owner. We tried the Babaganoush and Moutabal Beets served with pita that were warm, light, and still full of air fresh from the oven. The Babaganoush was very good with fresh pomegranate and olives. The Beets were packed full of flavor and perfectly balanced with lemon juice and pomegranate molasses.
For Dinner we tried the chicken Ouzi, with fresh vegetables and just the right balance of spice inside a flakey phyllo crust. Hubby had the Beef Shawarma and also enjoyed every bite. So nice to have a Mediterranean option in town, and we will definitely be back to try more of the menu options.
