Ask for a hot sausage, they said hot sausage was $8. I said ok & this what they gave me. The bread was hard & falling apart. I was so disappointed like unbelievable. U gotta be kidding me, no way this is a $8 sausage. I see why they was so empty. This is bad for business. Coming from a business woman. On the flip side they fresh juice was amazing. & the guys was very nice!

Went here for a quick laid-back bbq dinner option, and this place was close to my home, so I figured; Why not?
The atmosphere was really cool, laid back, and trendy. There are lots of potted plants outside both on the ground and hanging from the rafters to break up the asphalt parking lot feel outside which was nice. They brought the food out to the table after I ordered and had a pretty good bbq menu selection.
Food: Pulled pork sandwich overall was very good; my only gripe if i had to nit-pick is a lack of sauce on the sandwich and cold buns, the taste was still very good even without toasted buns and more sauce though. The slaw, pickles, and amount of meat (pork) on the sandwich was perfect. They definitely don’t skimp out here like so many others! I also tried the Mac-n-cheese, and it was very flavorful and smoky, which is what I was hoping for from a BBQ joint. Tots were also on point and came out in a cool mini fryer dish.

Update 12/10/25 – came back several times since. Unfortunately I got sick after eating here one of the times (owner was out sick this day I did find out later on) with a nasty case of food poisoning. I tried this place twice since just ruling it out as a bad night I had there, and to my surprise the entrees I couldn’t even finish, the meat was much more fat and gritty, or had hair in it.
I will say the sides are still good, but these last couple experiences really changed my perception of the place.

I own a sports podcast network that deals with nhl, ahl and echl hockey leagues and threw a cancer benefit at this location after doing a promotional sponsorship with the brand for months.
The cancer benefit was an absolute success due to my team getting donations from our network sponsors and teams we’re credentialed with in the nhl, ahl and echl for raffle items we raffled off during our event. The staff knocked it out of the park even being understaffed, 2 employees was definitely a challenge to keep up with the amount of business we brought in. According to the employees, it was the most people ever to attend a night at the location.
We never saw the total amount of revenue, based of John’s attitude, he wouldn’t let that number be public knowledge. We knew we did well over what we even thought we could do and when we added up how much things cost, that total was in the thousands.
The signs inside said the beer was $4 a piece but when you checked your account, you were charged $5. So just one example, they had to restock beer a couple times after warming him they amount of people were coming and that he would get more if needed, which they did do.
The main issue is after making the amount of money we know we made HIM, he donated a whopping $150 to the cancer benefit which is a huge slap in the face. He easily made $3000 that night if not more and wanted to donate $50 and only switch to $159 after I pushed him to.
Great food, great location, great bands. But you absolutely took advantage and money away from cancer benefit and thats disgusting. I wasn’t going to even leave this review until I saw John thanking everyone for some kind of community outreach project and couldn’t hold my tongue any longer! You should be ashamed of yourself John Berl and I should’ve listen to the rest of the businesses in the area that wouldn’t do business with us because we we’re doing business with you.

Cute place, inside and out ! Everything we ordered was hot and delicious . We had no problems with service or whom I assume was the owner, by the reviews of others I’m guessing he may have been stressed with the opening of a new place and is getting it under control . Do not not go because of his attitude, order take out for I want this place to stick around . Loved my street corn and burnt ends . Place was very clean . Really can’t wait to go back for the dessert, heard there’s a new baker on premises and need to try them out ! Also, thought the prices were very reasonable for how much everything has gone up recently.

This was not my first visit but since I try something new each time I go it can feel like it. Today I tried their brisket veggie soup and a pulled brisket sandwich. The brisket in the soup was so tender it melted in your mouth. I will definitely get that again. The sandwich was also delicious with the spicy BBQ pickles and some coleslaw. While this is not something I normally mention, the iced tea was also very good .

Everything was delicious, service was great and the desserts were delicious too. Kids had Tots, Fries, Mac & Cheese, roasted corn and corn bread, they ate a little of everything which is rare. They had a cherry vanilla milkshake and Chocolate ice cream. The wifey had pulled pork sandwich with pineapple slaw and BBQ sauce. I had 1/4lb of each pulled pork & chicken and brisket, we thought everything was absolutely delicious. We live around the corner and we are disappointed in ourselves we didn’t come sooner, be back again real soon! We brought our beer since they don’t serve alcohol, so come prepared. They had live acoustic music set up outside which we knew about through their FB post, seems to be a pretty regular thing which was nice. It felt very much like a backyard hangout. I know I said it already, but can’t wait to go back!

My husband and I had a super rough day at work and were looking for a quick dinner option. This place did not disappoint! The food was amazing and the atmosphere allowed us to decompress. Best Valentine’s dinner ever. Had the twin lostober tails. Got it to take home. portions were very good and it tasted wonderful. Made my whole night. I have eaten here many times never had a bad meal yet. the seafood is really good The Mexican food is wonderful. Love the catfish dinner, chicken dumping soup etc. Great place not just bbq great selection of other food. Love this place. Live music on the weekend. This little place is just what Claymont needed.
