Stumbled onto this spot due to advice from my wife who is from Flatwoods. Chicken was fried to order and it smelled so good that we dug in as soon as we got home. Great people (they know her well hell they family ). FYI NO FRILLS DOWN HOME AND NOT A PRETTY BUILDING BUT ITS CLEAN AND THE SERVICE IS GREAT.

My truck driver husband and I passing by Shreveport & was looking for an alternative place to eat when we saw a fried chicken place just 4mins away. The chicken was so good. The fish poboy got a very good from my hard to impress husband. My daughter devoured her meal. The beans and rice is just what my husband wanted. A home cooked meal away from home. This place is on his radar now. If there’s an improvement I can suggest is to maybe change the fries. It was not very good. Order this instead, 3 dark spicy chicken, rice and beans & fish poboy.

It’s in the title, so I suppose you’d expect it, but the fried chicken is INCREDIBLE! They have spicy or regular chicken. I wanted to order every single side on the menu, but settled for beans and rice, fried okra, and mashed potatoes and gravy. I particularly enjoyed the beans and rice.

Back in the early to mid 1970’s there was an Uncle Albert’s Fried Chicken in Natchitoches, LA on 2nd Street/Lafayette Street near downtown, right next to the Kroger supermarket (where I got my first paycheck job while in high school). The Uncle Albert’s we had was strictly walk in/carry out, but I usually would go there when I had an one hour break from work to buy their fried chicken and fries, roll of bread. The food was always fresh and hot. I’ve never forgotten the great service and excellent quality food from that establishment!
