Initially we had some difficulties utilizing the tablet ordering screen, navigating and modifying orders as well as merging the combo option into the modification menu made it a clunky experience.
Our order consisted of:
Ümrburger, Jalapeno Popper burger, chicken tenders, regular fries, and Blackened fries.
All burgers appear to be made using a brioche bun.
The Ümrburger is a standard burger. All the traditional flavors of a homemade burger were there. The beef itself had a good flavor, but when everything was combined it was somewhat muted without any specific ingredient or sauce being a star of the show.
The Jalapeno Popper burger was quite wet. The sauce present on the burger ended up causing issues on the bottom bun. We also were told that the pickle onion mix used on the burger is pre-finished and onions cannot be removed. If someone dislikes onion, this burger has enough to likely trigger you.
Chicken tenders were very large and consisted of full cuts of chicken. The meat was very moist. The breading on the tenders lacked seasoning of any kind, so eating them without a dip leaves you with a mostly flavorless, albeit moist piece of breaded chicken. Utilizing the provided dips does help, and the lack of seasoning in the breading helps those dips shine more.
Of all the dips I found the BBQ dip to be very pleasing. There was a hint of curry that really made that sauce stand out among your standard selections of honey mustard and ranch.
The fries were very hot when we received them, and the blackened fries were very similar to other restaurants that serve Cajun fries. The fries had a good flavor, but lacked a crispy crunch expected from restaurant fries.
The staff were approachable and wore T-Shirts of the company name. They answered all of our questions and were friendly during our interactions with them.
There are a lot of burger places in Rolla, and it’s becoming harder to stand out. Umrschlkr offers similar burgers to other restaurants and appear to aim towards a more environmentally friendly structuring and natural flavors, the downside is the meals themselves are somewhat muted when comparing them with other burger offerings in the Rolla area. The restaurant has a minimalistic theme of green and shades of white.
We will try Umrschlkr again, but we will not go out of our way to do so.
I got the Thermodynamic burger and my wife and kids got the bacon cheeseburgers with fries and blackened fries.
Everything was cooked perfectly and was absolutely delicious. They said the Thermodynamic burger was very hot and they were correct. I love spicy food and it hit the spot.
The ordering was easy on the kiosk and the customer service was excellent.
Love it and will be back again soon.
But seriously, what happened to the fries? They were so dry, like they were made yesterday.
I regret ordering the combo
