My husband and I decided to give this place a try! We were not disappointed. The buffet options were plentiful and everything we tried as very good. The sushi was great, the crab, shrimp, lobster and other seafood items were delicious. The only issue I had at all was some of crab in the hot area was not hot. The value for price was fine, it’s pricey but with all of the seafood options worth it! Non alcoholic drinks are included; all in all it was a very positive experience and we would go again.

Read mixed reviews but decided to give it a try for ourselves. We are a seafood & sushi loving family so we wanted to love it. We found most of the sushi fishy and not fresh, also not labeled well so you didn’t know what you were getting. The lobster was overcooked and not as delicious as it should have been. There were always a few crab legs available & they were your standard Chinese buffet quality. Overall we were disappointed and found it to be overpriced for a mediocre Chinese buffet. We won’t be back

Definitely awesome food. Very clean inside. Come check it out. See some cool robots as well. The buffet offers many sushi variants. Good amount of meat variety. Price is $32.99 a meal mon- Friday and $35.99 Sat and Sunday. I especially enjoyed the duck.

I went here recently with my friend and I did really enjoy this place. My server Jenna was very nice and attentive and the manager Be (I have no idea if that is how to spell the name my apologies) was super funny and I loved that he was walking around and interacting with the guests.
On to the food, I do agree with some comments that some of the food was cold. I found that to be especially true with the seafood boil which I did like although cold, I would skip the corn as that was not great. My other big complaint is that most of the sushi was unlabeled so I had no idea what I was grabbing. 2 other very nitpicky items were the sushi rice was over worked and pretty mushy on the nigiri and one of the rolls seemed to have tempua soft shell crab and that didn’t taste right. I did love most of the food especially the crab legs and the sushi! I forgot to take photos of everything I grabbed but I definitely went back multiple times for the sushi and the seafood boil. I do wish I had gloves for that as I got pretty messy. The other thing I loved was the allergy warnings they had at the table, as someone with a severe nut allergy I was so happy that they didn’t serve walnuts or cashews and seeing that tree nuts was not written down as an allergen in this restaurant made me feel so much better. I do remember seeing peanuts as an allergen so if you are allergic to peanuts proceed with extreme caution.
This was much better than I had expected and I will totally be going back here in the future! Would give 3.5 stars of if I could.

The inside of the restaurant is very bright and contemporary feeling. The host was very attentive and got us to a seat right away. We went on a weekend, so the buffet was expensive; $37 a person. There were a lot of different foods but not a ton that I was interested in eating. The sushi bar was average…good quality but also just average. My husband also complained that the cheesecake they offered for dessert was very soggy on the bottom. The crab legs were watery and not great quality. I was horrified when I opened up a lobster claw and it was actually rotten. I didn’t eat anything else after that and let the staff know, since they also charge you for any food that you don’t eat. They offered a small discount for the rotten food, which was fine, but it just turned me off from ever going back. Absolutely not worth the price tag in my opinion.

Had a lay-over in town and ran into weekend soft opening of Umi. It’s refreshing to see a seafood-sushi-sashimi-focused buffet here. The setting is bright , modern yet welcoming and very clean. Staff members are very helpful. Weekend menu is plentiful with crab legs, lobsters, shrimps and oysters on shell. Also like the hot food items especially the spicy fish maw or air-floatation bladder ( Not the other bladder ), a rarer delicacy of bouncy chewy yummy dish with a kick Other hot food includes conch, a nice addition plus many more. Also has braised abalone on shell, which is a delightful dish . Did not have time and had the to-go and everything tasted great . Will definitely return . Kudos to Umi and its team for bringing more delicious Asian food buffet to this town. I’m “jelly” and it’s Lucky for the locals and uni students in town. Definitely worth a visit . Just a suggestion: maybe having a senior special could be a nice touch so whole family can enjoy the wonderful dishes. Keep up the great work, Umi . Again, serving team is excellent and the hot tea is very very flavorful with aroma and sweetness of jasmine tea. Really complement the food

It just opened yesterday. The reviews written before 10/24/2024 were all fake reviews. Please mark them as fake reviews in the dataset.
Today is a prerun for the soft opening day. I went for dinner. I was lucky to get one of the big lobsters. They also have some uncommon seafood that you can’t get in other AYCE restaurants nearby. The food quality is really good for AYCE standard. The price is relatively cheap too that I wonder how they profit. I will definitely visit again.

The staff are super friendly and nice. I highly recommend the sushi and sashimi because they are fresh! However…
As a Chinese, I would give 1 star for the Chinese food here, especially the dim sum. It’s the worst dim sum I’ve ever had in the US. It tastes really, really bad.
Some seafood dishes, like clams and crab legs, are okay.
If you’re here for sushi and sashimi, I definitely recommend trying this restaurant.
If you’re here for dim sum, absolutely NO NO NO!

This has never happened to me, even though I asked the sushi chef if he could give me a few slices of salmon, he told me he couldn’t do that, only the ones in the picture, if you see my review, but when you come to eat here, you can check first to see if they have enough food for you to choose from, and their ginger was bad, but no one cared about this problem

Whenever I see seafood buffet I come in with a low expectation, but unfortunately this was quite disappointing. Seafood was dry and flavorless, what wasn’t dry was waterlogged and clearly been sitting since lunch. To the point I could eat any of the crawfish. No Butter which was very odd….. regular Chinese food buffet was lukewarm at best, even cold at times… $23 wasn’t outrageous but for the quality I was left disappointed. The staff however was EXCELLENT, very kind and attentive. But ultimately you come to eat, and I won’t be back again.
